Doesn't verification take quite a bit of time?

I think that most of the jobs that I have ever had, I started within 1 week after applying. And I have had at least one where they wanted me "tomorrow".
Employers could flood the Social Security Administration with verification papers. The verification process shouldn't have to halt the immediate hiring of an individual. Once verification papers have been filed, the burden would be on the Social Security Administration to either accept or reject the verification. Meanwhile, the employer/employee relationship could continue.

Could we not set up verification centers to be used by anyone unemployed and seeking work? By requiring them to procure the documentation beforehand, we might be able to save on this step. Much like we are required to procure our Social Security numbers by applying for them. I just believe that I think there is a way that we can clear this bottleneck to employment. When employers want somebody to "start tomorrow" currently this can lead to circumvention of hiring laws by need of the employer, rather than wanton disregard for law. I believe that a major part of employment of illegals start at this juncture.

Considering the speed at which the Social Security Administration gets things done, I would certainly hate to be unemployed and waiting for them to clear me for employment.

I just see this leading to massive unemployment, industries that are unable to operate because they cannot hire people, and in subsequence, bankruptcy courts being overrun.

Besides that, if people are procuring documentation ahead of time much like we obtain Social Security cards, what is to prevent illegal residents from procuring false documentation in the same manner that they secure the false cards?

I think the post-employment verification is the only practical way of handling this.

Well, CF; we will disagree. Nothing personal, but I think the bottleneck can be cleared beforehand. The requirement to have applied for verification beforehand should rest upon the public so that we might clear the "bottleneck". I would agree with you that it could possibly create a bigger one; but could we just require proof of the application when a person applies for a job, to let the employer get needed help in without punishing the employer; and then just requring the employer to furnish this info to the government in a prescribed amount of timeto prove that they are within the law in hiring practice?
I'm just trying to think of both sides of the problem, sir. I am not attacking you personally. I definitely understand the need for employers to sometimes need to fill positions quickly. But I am positive that this is one point that leads to the hiring of illegals. Obviously, corporate monetary greed can be another.
