I wonder ,what would happen if 100 or so Americans went down to mexico, and took over just one of the towns. then start robbing,killing and raping(also during this time frame 100 or so liberals went to mexico and declared our right to be there, now what would the mexican people and/or the goverment do..hell i mean after all they are just looking for a better life.

A Mississippi Democrat in line to become chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee has warned the nation's largest uniform supplier it faces criminal charges if it follows a White House proposal to recheck workers with mismatched Social Security numbers and fire those who cannot resolve the discrepancy in 60 days.
Rep. Bennie Thompson said in a letter to Cintas Corp. it could be charged with "illegal activities in violation of state and federal law" if any of its 32,000 employees are terminated because they gave incorrect Social Security numbers to be hired.
"I am deeply troubled by Cintas' recent policy change regarding the Social Security Administration's 'no match' letters," Mr. Thompson said in the Nov. 2 letter. "It is my understanding that hundreds of Cintas' immigrant workers have received these letters. I am extremely concerned about any potentially discriminatory actions targeting this community."

So this dumbocrat is worried law breakers will be discriminated against. Keep it up dems. 2008 will be a huge victory for republicans if this is how they demonstrate their enforcement of homeland security when their nation is at war.

Personally, this issue is getting way out of hand; so I propose this:
1). To the illegals already here, I say we will need to grant a six-month stay ( or amnesty period) to file legally for citizenship or legal alien status. Afterwards; then the deportations are to begin.
2). We need to ask ourselves who the real criminals are here. I read an article yesterday on Immigration compiled by the Center for Immigration Studies and found myself agreeing in full with the author; who suggested that the only answer may be in Education through Enforcement-a fancy phrase for what I said in point #1.
3). As far as the real criminals here; please remember that the illegals to whom we refer are here simply to try to get a better life for themselves and their families-as all of us whom are the decendants of immigrants are. This is no excuse for breaking our laws; but who is really breaking them? The illegal whom we will deport, or the American businessman or company that is not conforming to our laws by hiring them to save money that would be paid to an American worker's benefit package. THESE ARE THE TRUE CRIMINALS HERE!
4). We need to step up our enforcement of our employment laws to require penalties or jail to companies that flout these laws by this hiring practice.

I disagree. The businesses who hire illegals are criminals and those who enter the country are criminals. When you break the law you are a criminal. There is no difference if a man robs a bank because he wants a better life or enters the country illegally because he wants a better life.

If you want to live in America, do it legally.

You are correct; Alias; in your definition; but to correct this problem, we need to approach the problem from both sides. Yes, if people have entered the country illegally, it is a criminal act; and as I said, I think we need to grant the amnesty period to either correct this problem or face deportation.
I think you might have misunderstood my other point, though. Americans (or American companies) that facilitate this process either by not checking the documentation requirements thoroughly, or providing false social security numbers are also guilty of criminal behavior. In legal parlance; they are accessories to a crime. I just think if we put enough pressure in this area, we might be able to send the message that America has never been against immigration; but rather that we want the legal process to be followed(also that there will be- and should be- severe penalties for those whom seek to profit by circumventing our laws.

Thank you for the kind words. We are on the same page. The business who hires the illegal is a criminal and the alien who enters illegal is a criminal. Send the criminal alien back to his country and fine the business so he will think twice about hiring the other criminal. E-mail is fine, but I really think you will do more for your cause to keep it out here in the open so all can see and think.

Your definitions are accurate Sgtdmski; but I would like to know what you think of all the American businesses that are also breaking the law by not checking the required documentation and; as I heard one person say, sometimes facilitating the crime by procuring false social security numbers or just paying cash (often below the minimum wage). How do you propose that this crime be handled?

I wasn't implying that the reason for the illegal immigration makes it acceptable; only that that was why it was being done. I do agree that the act of coming into the country illegally needs to be addressed along with the equally criminal act of facilitating that crime by acquiring and distributing false social security numbers and not conforming with the required documentation process as proscribed by law. I think we all know of a few companies or individual business owners guilty of this.In its abtract definition, this could also be termed racketeering, for which the United States has severe and draconian penaties.

You are correct again, Alias. I will continue to post here and hope that you will do the same. Who knows? Maybe we might be able to influence a peaceful and workable solution that will not result in an anti-Hispanic wave across America.
