The Irish built it? That's partially true... but you have to also make note of the fact that it was also built in no small part by, Africans, Chinese, Itallians, Greeks, Indians, and countless other nationalities... The irish contributed one small part, I am Irish, and I am proud we did our part...

now - I don't know who told you the Irish were the ones who fought the British here, LOL. But it was the British who fought the British. I'm not saying there were NO Irish. But they were NOT near the majority of those fighting.
