I think Bush has it right on immigration. It's just not possible to find and deport 12m illegal immigrants. And it wouldn't be a good thing for the economy either.

I agree they are breaking the law but clearly they US economy needs them.

And an 1800 mile fence on the US-Mexico border will never work

Better to address the problem with pragmatism. Swallow your pride, start a viable guestworker program, get the cheap labour we need and feed hungry families in Mexico

We're not gonna be able to deport millions of people, anyway. The fuel costs alone would be daunting, much less the paperwork and bureaucratic tie up associated with such an immense population relocation.

My show is based in the federal capital of Pakistan (Islamabad). As a result my show gets to the ears of a large number of politicians and lawmakers ( though i do not pretend to influence them that greatly.. but they hear me). At our last census our channel had well over 100,000 people listening during my time slot . Our target audience is described by Gallup as the A1, A2, B and C sector listeners. that means the affluent to the middle class( our channel also has the highest radio advertizing revenue in Pakistan.. just to give you an idea of the popularity of the channel ).

Prior to my job at FM 89 i worked on a local channel Power 99, which was pakistan's FIRST private FM channel AND also hugely proactive regarding social issues.

I take these issues up in a MUSLIM country and i am heard and appreciated by MUSLIM people when i talk of equality, freedom of expression and freedom of religion.

I don't lie Jeff. and i have no need to think other people lie to ME. For me the truth will ALWAYS be the better option. Do you honestly believe that you are important enough for me to LIE to? I have never even lied to get myself out of trouble, then why the hell would i lie to convince a bitter old man in america about anything?

Anyhow it doesn't matter if you believe my status as a radio show host. What matter is that you have ascribed one particular thing to me that is a blatant untruth.

I have NEVER EVER chastized ANY religion. It is not possible for me owing to the fact that the other half of my family whom i love IS CHRISTIAN. Do you get that? I have prayed in a church and i have prayed in a mosque. I have NO ANIMOSITY towards any particular religion.

What i DO attack are the salvation peddlers that exist in EVERY religion. To me, priests, pundits, swamis, reverends, pastors, rabbis, mullahs and maulvis are all a social disease. I do not condemn them for whichever religion they preach. What i condemn them for is the shameless way they put themselves between mankind and god. ALL THESE PEOPLE make a living from convincing humans that they are dirty and evil, and that they can only reach salvation through them. ( The religious party alliance in Pakistan, the MMA, has been the butt of my jokes MANY A TIME for being a party of salvation peddlers.. in fact it is precisely because of my fun poking at THESE guys that my friends warn me to back off. many of them eally are crazy))

So what your feeble mind has construed as an attack on all religions but islam is merely an attack on all sections of society that make a living and/or gain power by exploiting the religions of their respective societies.

I also don't care whether you attack my personal belief. However in the interest of PEACE it is always important that hate and prejudice be removed. One of the things i do with YOU very often is to explain to you that your opinions about the barbarity of Islam, the backwardness of muslim countries, the violent disposition of muslims etc etc are PREJUDICED. Prejudice is untruth. And untruth must be rectified for peace.

That is the exact same thing i do here in Pakistan when people will attack Danes ( the cartoon debacle - incidentally my maternal uncle is one of the sub editors in the newpaper that started the controversy), when they attack christianity, judaism and hinduism. I like to think of myself as an arbitrator. Since i have my feet firmly planted in two seemingly OPPOSED camps, i have NO CHOICE but to mediate. The FIRST STEP of mediation is to rinse away prejudices and untruths that one side has about the other. In Pakistan i try to clear away misconceptions about christian ideology and society. On THIS particular site, since i am the only one marginally capable of counteracting your prejudice about muslims i HAVE to correct you when you utter unfactual, hateful and incorrect statements. I don't care if i convince you, but i hope that in responding to your prejudice SOME people onthis site may understand that Islam and Muslims aren't the demons you like to make them out to be.

Oh and btw i'm not from a rich background. I have studied in regular pakistani schools, gone to public school in denmark and fed and clothed myself ever since i went into the danish army at age 18 ( 3rd Gunner & Medic, 1st Mortar STESK Heavy Mortar Battery). I have no assets, at the present i am actually homeless ( i crash in my friend's office ) and believe it or not i never finished my college degree.

Don't try to disregard what i say because you have a false notion that i am a bourgeoise elitist preppy. I am none of the above.. However i just happen to move in those circles in Pakistan owing to my past as a theatre actor and director, coupled with an unusual appearance for pakistan ( i look danish but i speak and gesticulate as a Punjabi)
