What everyone still does not understand is that a Mexican (legal or not) has not taken anybody's job here in America. Look at it from the real point. That job was given away (probably by an American) with the authority and the idea that this could save a company money. This is really no different from most of our ancestors when they emigrated to America. Does this make it acceptable? Of course not. I believe the animosity is actually because the job was given to an undocumented worker (illegal alien or otherwise). But the decision to replace the American worker with another who works for cheaper wages and little if any benefits and also being undocumented in direct conflict with the lawwas made by an American. If you are angry; try directing your anger at these individuals. I've been saying all along that this is where the problem must first be approached.

Thank you, AF. It looks like we can agree that illegal immigration is a two-sided problem. I also hate to say it; but America created this problem by not having clear cut rules and regulations on immigration; and then exacerbated the problem by not addressing it diplomatically (we still can do this). Unless we in America can acknowledge our position in this problem- unfotunately it will get worse before it gets better.Closing our borders will not be the answer.It stands against everything America is for- not to say will put a dent in trade and also damage us politically abroad.
As I've stated many times before; we elected our politicians into office. Don't you think it's high time they lived up to their responsibilities?

The bottom line is this: The United States has more immigrants, per year, than every other country in the world COMBINED!

Until these other countries - Mexico especially - become something more than a festering Hell Hole, their citizens are going to want to leave and come to the United States. AND WHO CAN BLAME THEM?
