America has always welcomed the tired, the hungry, the poor. But they were expected to follow the laws and rules.

Now America is drowning under the deluge of illegals - and you want us to just suck it up? There are American CITIZENS who are hungry, poor, tired, and homeless. I say, we help them BEFORE we take care of the criminals.

You assume too much,many are being paid under the table, and not for some little $5 an hour, i know two that was being paid $15 an hour just to help build homes, no taxes no paper trail, and the black guy that was let go(for so-called lack of work) was making $22 an hour, it took this man 12 years with this company to reach that pay, but it all fair right.
As far as housing go's ,not to long ago we found a trailer (3 BR)that atleast 30 mexicans was staying in,the sewage was run out in the open, and they were paying $500 a month, yet the smell was so bad we had to have the health dept to shut the home down and fine the hell out of the landlord, then the illegals were ran off.there many things go on with the illegal that done of you care about until it hits y'alls area... so i say get rid of them now.

That wasn't a push off, dude. Your response basically said 'you don't have anything to say worth listening to because of your age.' That's how it came across to me. That definitely qualifies as an attack.

Being honest and saying that you don't want to respond, or not responding at all, is much better than taking time to add absolutely nothing useful to the discussion.

It's a public messageboard so there really isn't any 'horning in' so to speak. If someone has something to say, they speak up.

Clearly, though, we have very different ways of handling things. I would have simply NOT responded to the comment until (if ever) I felt like doing so. I don't really understand the logic behind disrespecting a person just to save face.

The reason why I felt compelled to respond is because ageism is simply another form of prejudice. A lot of people do it without realizing it.
