I know it's a public board , to tell the truth it's more like a family with brothers and sister, and family have been known to get bitchy with each other..if JR want to be part of any family, he had better get ready for the big brother attacks( which i havn't started yet). When i was 17 i still had to listen and ask questions,and learn from the adults around me, now if i had called a adult a moron or anything else, i would had my teeth knocked out or a backhand to the head..look I don't hate anti nor do i wish him any harm, but if he want to play the game he has to know what is instore for him....after all we don't want him to get shell shocked at his young age.

I agree with your assesment, but I must add this.

Much like a family, if someone feels like you are being unreasonable or being a jerk about something that person is likely to speak their mind. YOU have to be willing to accept THAT as well.

oh i do and i have been..sure i am just as human as JR(i call him JR because it shorter and easyier to recall, not out of disrepect) if you have notice , i havn't yet to replied to him on the other tread yet because i havn't cool down enough yet and i realize his age, and yes he can make a point at times,but he's just 17 ,so all he can go by is other peoples ideas and views, not his own,now in another 10 years, he just might know what he talking about,but for now he don't..it's was suppose to be his family job to teach him, but i guess in the computer age it has become all our jobs to teach young people. not that i want to teach anyone..

Then be ready to defend yourself. Don't just start saying I don't know anything because I'm younger, and certainly don't assume none of these views are my own.

So far only three people have done that: you, Jefferson, and that pathetic troll Garysher. Everyone else had the decency to listen without saying , "Go clean your room" or some other crap like that. And let's be frank about the insults, you've engaged in them just as much as anyone else. It's like an unwritten rule on this forum that at some point a thread has to carry over to a heated argument between two or three parties. It sucks, but a lot of the time it appears to be inevitable.

americafirst - I don't think you're giving him nearly enough credit. He's very well-read and knowledgeable about the issues being discussed here. Though there are some things that younger people aren't going to be as adept at debating (mostly things that have to do with life experience), facts are facts, no matter HOW old the messenger is.

I will also give him props for being able to keep his temper around Jefferson and garysher WAY better than I am.

No my dear friend i am not.I am a little tired and pissed about life outside the site but i am in no ways anti soical..if that was the case i would not be here right now...but am trying to get in a better mood.

Hmmm, if you say so. But seems to me you're being a tad bit too harsh on Anti. And that whole 'don't baby him' comment was unnessary as well as the 'he's not my pet project'.

I don't believe anyone's asked you to take him under your wing, nor have I seen any evidence of him being babied. But I do see that you're showing a great deal of impatient with younger members or those that willing to listen to him despite his age...

I dunno. Guess it's the mother in me...But young people do have alot to contribute to a discussion, because they look at things with a fresh new look. Where us older people look with jaded eyes so to speak. For us it's all 'old news' while for them it's a brand new world. I'd rather encourage that in a person, see it being encouraged, then see it being torn down or insulted.
