...and my contention is that this is only happening with Day Laborers who are illegal immigrants. They are NOT being paid, in this way, by large companies - such as multi-national packing plants. The industry is policed too carefully for that to happen. OSHA, the IRS, the INS and all the Unions keep far too close an eye on your major corporations to allow for that. The AFL/CIO would raise holy hell if they caught wind of illegals, at a packing plant, being underpaid.

Anything to the contrary better be backed up by linked proof.

I still say the best way to handle this crap ..is to get midevil on these illegals and their supporters, put boots on the borders and use force to stop anyone trying to cross and let mexico handle it own problems...

It doesn't work. Hundreds of thousands stream across each year, and only around 3,000 or so are caught and deported. You can send as many troops as you want, but the area between the U.S. and Mexico is vast, and there are plenty of places to sneak through. The domestic solution (at least for short term problems) is to make hiring illegals a more serious offense. More guards at the border does little

The illegals are still coming - and when they get here they have forged documents & false numbers that fool even the most trained experts. Besides, even the illegal immigrants that don't get work are STILL living better then they are in Mexico. Our welfare system is just THAT lucrative.

Build the stinking fence. 20 feet high and 20 feet deep. Razor wire on top. It's not going to keep them all out, but it'll sure make the price of climibing much higher and more difficult.

Once again, I challenge you to find proof that a majority of illegals come to the United States in order to kill, rob, and rape. You can't, because they don't. Just like the nativist hysteria at the turn of the century, a few people come to cause trouble, but they are the bare minority, and screening would solve the problem. Unless they have a gang affiliation, criminal record, or contagious disease, let them in. We can handle it, and you'll just have to suck it up and know that this kind of thing always happens with surges in immigration. Wild accusations and ridiculous assumptions.
