Key to stopping immigration?
I was discussing the issue of illegal immigration yesterday with some friends, and I realized something that you all probably knew. Mexico sucks on all fronts. It's politically corrupt & repressive, economically inefficient, provides inadequate services to citizens, etc. This means two things.

First off, don't blame most immigrants on coming to the United States, because if we were as screwed up as they were, I wouldn't blame you guys for running off to Canada. They are breaking the law, but remember there is a common clause that states that under extreme circumstances, to protect yourself you can break the law to suit the situation, like stealing a car to escape a potential murderer, or killing in self-defense. I don't see why so many people consider them criminals when they're really more like refugees.

Second, if we want to shut off a garden hose, we can't just try to block the flow of water. We need to turn off the hose. Fix Mexico's problems. How, I have no idea. They're a sovereign nation, and they've been especially critical of us on the illegal immigration front (they've also promoted propaganda campaigns aiming to increase emigration from Mexico). This is the biggest problem we have to face, and instead of throwing time and money on the border, we need to force Mexico to fix its problems, for both our sakes.

Because it benefits us as well. You think this is all altruism? Here's some news for you, this isn't a "nation of cowards" as you so eloquently put it. There is no collective laziness that has washed over the country. Cowardice is not a cause of poverty. They can't get their country in order because they're government is inept, they're development is stunted, and they don't know how to utilize their resources. Believe it or not, Mexico has huge oil reserves, but they're untapped because government industries never bother.

Why do you suddenly assume this is for Mexico alone? When they improve their country, they'll stop coming over. It's as simple as that.

now just how does this benefit me or any of my boys? let me guess we go down there and risk our lifes and our money to help these poor (lol) people, and then they just keep coming.

they are cowards because they will not fight for the freedom of their country, they come here and kill ,rape and steal,, not all of them but enought for us the defend the borders.

Have you seen the videos of the hispanics shooting us birds and shouting they want to kill us, and any of the reports that show hispanic wanting us to get out of north America because it belong to them..so i guess your next commit with be,well that a small number of people" B/S these people don't love you or me (unless you one of them) they rather see you in the streets ,being their slaves or being dead, but not just you but me and any other American...that not hate it's the fact.but if you want to prove me wrong,,go to their hood with with your money and see if you can make it out a live..look at the Americans getting killed and robbed when they go down to mexico...you need to come to the fact , that you and I can not save the whole world , but we can try to save America, this country first.

hold on are you a mexican?

Risk our lives? What are you smoking? I'm talking economic aid & political pressure on the Mexican government. If you disapprove of that, why not disapprove of the humanitarian work overseas?

they are cowards because they will not fight for the freedom of their country, they come here and kill ,rape and steal,, not all of them but enought for us the defend the borders.
Would you fight, or would you protect the welfare of your family? Most opressive regimes are maintained through control out of fear. Very, very few people are willing to take up arms and rebel, even thought that would be nice.

Let me tell you a story. When my grandfather was young, he lived in Italy under Mussolini's fascists. They forced him into military service, and he ran after they sent him to Ethiopia. He went to America, and guess what? A few years later he was back in Africa, fighting Rommel's forces for the United States. He fought for his adopted country, against the people who supported his opressors. If that's cowardice, then I don't think bravery exists.

Have you seen the videos of the hispanics shooting us birds and shouting they want to kill us, and any of the reports that show hispanic wanting us to get out of north America because it belong to them..
I've seen videos and advertisements for the Minuteman Project, the one that shoots illegals and takes their wallets for funding.

so i guess your next commit with be,well that a small number of people" B/S these people don't love you or me (unless you one of them) they rather see you in the streets ,being their slaves or being dead, but not just you but me and any other American...that not hate it's the fact.but if you want to prove me wrong,,go to their hood with with your money and see if you can make it out a live..look at the Americans getting killed and robbed when they go down to mexico...you need to come to the fact , that you and I can not save the whole world , but we can try to save America, this country first.
So they move to the United States, the #1 place where you can find Americans...to hate us? They voluntarily move into a nation of people they despise? You really don't know what you're talking about, do you? Got studies to back this up, actual surveys or polls suggesting that a majority of illegals violently oppose the United States?

Do something for me, go to Boston and walk alone at night. You won't see many Mexicans, but maybe the Irish hoodlum who beats you over the head with a crowbar will give you a lesson in tolerance.

hold on are you a mexican?
Irish & Italian, and proud of being both. Why does this suddenly come up with you all the time? Oh, yeah, because you suddenly assume that if somebody supports immigration, then he or she is Mexican. Do some growing up, and in the meantime...

Careful, there! Say that too loudly and we might have to do some more "liberating"!

Yes, and while you're down there fixing their country, they'll be up here taking your job.

Bullshit! Mexico has a long history of their people taking up arms against an oppressive regime.
