Everything is broken
With apologies to Bob Dylan, this is my introductory post, wherein I attempt to state where I'm coming from.

Contemporary humans are round pegs trying to fit into square holes.

The square hole is our civilization as practiced in most of the world.

The round hole (hunter-gatherer nomadic tribal social systems) is no longer available to us so maybe we can invent a new kind of hole that we could fit into, before we consume ourselves into oblivion.

In the meantime, it seems that many of the discussions here and elsewhere are like arguing whether the flame is red or blue when it's our arse that's on fire. Nevertheless, I have opinions and may not be able to help but spit some out from time to time.

Great introduction! Welcome to the site.

There is little doubt that the world in general is more liberal than it was 50 years ago and beyond. Conservatives are simply roadblocks on the path to an ever more progressive and liberal world. What a sad existence.
