I'm curious... is there any leftover damage or equipment from the Russians and or the German war machines (ww2) in the area you live in? I know there were many significant battles in your area at the time of the Soviet advance on Berlin from January - April 1945.
I know that until 1945 the town was completely German and known as Grunberg (green mountain). The soviets expelled all the inhabitants and replaced them with Poles who named it Zielona Gora (also, green mountain).

There is no damage to the town that I have yet noticed, but there is a museum not far from here with a large collection of German and Soviet hardware. I haven't been yet so don't know where or when it is from.

Keep it up and I might just adopt you. Having another little brother is always a good thing.

Waves at George...

LOL! In mediaeval astrology the concept of the full moon or new moon nearest just before your birth is important. The position of that moon is called the "syzygy", which scores quite highly in Scrabble *and* you don't need vowels! It's actually Latin, but it just *looks* like a Polish word to me

When I first met my wife I tried to learn a little Polish. My mum refused to believe how hard it was so I challenged her to pick any word in English and then pronounce it in Polish. My mum, being my mum, picked 'happy'. So we looked it up.
