However, the American consumerist way is to eat like shit and sit on the couch all day, and when they wonder why their health fails them they don't do the obvious but instead take pills for everything from being fat to your 'restless leg'. That only prolongs the inevitable and may actually make you fall harder when you do come down.
I firmly believe in getting a good cleaning out though and also in taking probiotics. Those good squiggly wigglies that eat the bad ones...

My recommendation is Floragen 3. I love it!!!

Colon cleansing has to be the largest-bought and at the same time one of the most quack of 'alternative medicines'. Medically the risks far outweigh any benefits (which are essentially nonexistent unless you're constipated or you need to do it to prepare for a surgery or something). And if you're constipated, or need to get something out of your system, laxatives provide probably a better alternative for a fraction of the price.

There's practically no scientific or medical backing behind 'colinic irrigation' and are actually potentially detrimental to your health (possible infections, etc.). The FDA certainly doesn't approve and have actually taken action against distributors.

The crap you see going through the tube at your last 'detoxification session' is just stuff you would have pooped out the next time you went to the toilet.

The only observable benefits of all this stuff is purely within the placebo effect.

I havenot ever had a colonic done or even bought the colon cleansing kit. I do drink Yogi Detox Teas though. But I have had two friends, one who does the colonics and one who does the pills ...and they both swear by them.

People will always swear by things that they're persuaded to believe in; this is why people still think they can cure their arthritis by visiting a faith healer or by sticking magnets at pressure points. The power of suggestion seems to be very pervasive.

There is little doubt that the world in general is more liberal than it was 50 years ago and beyond. Conservatives are simply roadblocks on the path to an ever more progressive and liberal world. What a sad existence.
