Come Early Morning
Last night I watched a movie out on DVD. It is called "Come Early Morning" and stars Ashley Judd.

I found this movie to be a triumphant story. It shows a young lady who has alot of internal pain and how she acts it out nearly by denying it and making for more pain. She lives fast and furious, drinks too much, sleeps with every guy in town.

But she has a reckoning of sorts. And it showed that she came to find her own self and value on her own. Yes there was a message of hope in religion for her, yes there was a message of love in a relationship she had, and yes there was a message of worth in that which she applied herself to vocationally.

It did show that she had to move past disappointments. Her father's "demons" and love lost. It showed she had to rise above spiritual platitudes.

Usually I have liked movies where THEY live happily everafter. But in this movie, there is another message that I think is perhaps more essential for growth and for knowing and making my own.
SHE lived happily everafter.

Independence and being at peace with one's own life is truly a wonderful thing. And not so widely expressed in movies that in all other ways emphasize love and romance.

I would truly recommend this movie to anyone. It is rated R but I think that is only because of some language and some themes in the movie. Not for any graphic scenes so much.
