Capote
I recently just saw this film. In my opinion its the best of 2005, and among the best in a while. Its a good break from the traditional shoot-em-up action and eye-candy movies Hollywood seems to make too often. Its just a really good movie. I just woundered if anyone else here saw it besides me, and what they thought about it.

I also saw Syriana (before it came out in theaters I believe, but only because my cousin is a film director and he, I guess, is a film critic and was sent a copy to analyze it and vote on it). I thought it was pretty good. I like films that really make you pay a lot of attention to it, and think. Its kind of tough to follow but if you watch it without breaks or interuptions you should get it. Pretty good, and carries a good message also. Although its not as good as Capote.

I'm surprised, I am a huge movie buff and I haven't even heard of this movie, looks like I have to check it out.

I have a question... How do you become a director? My passion in life is movies that would be like a dream to me.

Well I'd imagine you go to college and major in filmmaking. And start making shorter films and make a couple indepenent films or so just to get your name known. Then you can get a job for some major film studio or something.

My cousin just recently finished an independent film as writer/producer/director along with a British chap. Apparently they won a bunch of film festival and Independent Film awards and such for it. I don't know where he'll go from there.

That's great.

I hope I can do something with movies for a career.

My cousin has the same dream. He moved to Hollywood a couple of years ago and has been doing some screenwriting, small parts on soap operas, and small parts on some HBO shows (Sopranos, etc.) He's trying his best to get his name out.
