I have never personally witnessed such discrimination but I hear the racist talk all the time.

And look how much mileage wacko Republican supporters have gotten out of the fact that Obama spent a couple of years in a Muslim school as a small child. The rational response to hearing that is "So?"

But the actual response to that fact by literally millions of Americans has been, "THE MUSLIMS ARE COMING! THE MUSLIMS ARE COMING!"
You think that 9/11 might have something to do with anti-Muslim sentiment? Hell, I currently live in the Muslim world. We have Iraqis that work for my company. I've been to Jordan and the UAE. Based on my very real first-hand experience, I know that a lot of Muslims are very fine people.

HOWEVER, I still have an anti-Muslim sentiment. Anybody know why?

I think you meant to ask if I think 9/11 caused the anti-Muslim sentiment.

And, no, I don't.

The bad actions of some of a group of people cannot rationally cause one to be against that entire group of people.

Rationally 9/11 should have caused "anti-Muslims extremist, terrorist assholes who think they can get into heaven by killing innocent civilians" feelings.

Your comment about some Muslims being fine people indicates that you not only understand, but also internalize, the difference.

General "anti" feelings against an entire group of people with the excuse that a few of them have done reprehensible things is "caused" by the natural human tendency to fear anyone that is not "like us" and the inability of some people to use their brains to rise above that natural instinct.

A few my ass. Crowds dancing in the street pulling dead Americans out of blown up trucks and hanging the bodies, and celebrating after 9/11. Kiss my ass.

I don't have a anti-Muslim sentiment, but minimizing the true threat like that is bullshit.

Wow, and a few groups in Palestine and Iran represent all the Muslims out there?

You probably think that the small number of blacks that were looting and rioting in Los Angeles represent all the black people in the world, too, right?

"A few" is relative. There are approximately ONE BILLION Muslims on the planet.

Compared to that number, the number dancing in the street and celebrating after 9/11 was a few. Admitting that does not in any way "minimize the true threat."

Though I decided not to go there, I am glad that you did.

No, I think the jury that acquitted the policemen must have been high. Totally different situation and motivation. Just as when sports fans go out of control and start flipping cars when their team "wins"??? is a different situation. Are you daft?

Celebrating in several different Muslim countries over planes flown into a building in no way compares. Grace might have a point about you.

No it's different because it is different. The bullshit is comparing them in the first place. As many people have pointed out, the outrage from Muslims is few and far between. Black people did not march and celebrate when the serial shooter who killed a LOT of white people from the trunk of his car was shown to be black. THAT'S the difference.

You act like white people don't riot over causes they think is important. My ass.

Or what. Unless your logic can keep "white people" out of a hockey game riot. Your premise is bullshit.

Since all riots are the same it seems. Not many black folk at a hockey game for sure.
