Well, we all know what the Catholic church condoned and covered up for decades on end. So clearly this issue with pedophilia is not only in Islam.
But it don't take much to get me by
So just booze me up and get me high

I'm NOT condoning it in any way, but what percentage of priests do you suppose are actual pedophiles?

What is the point of that information anyway. There are dozens that have been revealed or even convicted as pedophiles. This was a problem for decades and the Catholic church just tried to cover it up to avoid getting bad press. All I was pointing out was that pedophilia in religion is not just in Islam.

I think the point here is the comparison between the founders of their respected religions. Mohammed was a man of war and a pedophile. Jesus was a man of peace and without sin.

Considering that both religions have violence in their histories, both religions have spawned terrorist organizations, and both religions can boast that well over the majority of their followers are peaceful, loving people, you should just stop with the "Jesus was perfect, Mohammed was evil" thing.

You mean stating a fact is not politically correct? Sorry. But it is a fact.

A fact is something which has been proven. I fail to see how such a statement is provable.

I don't know why I didn't think of this before, but what is so inherently wrong with being a man of war? Every great civilization that has ever existed has been primarily led by men of war, or their dominance and conquest has been because of men of war. Even if you could call Mohammed a man of war, what is so wrong about that? I don't think you honestly can, but even so what's wrong with it? George W. Bush is a man of war. So have been many U.S. presidents. The more I repeat the phrase "man of war" the more ambiguous of a term it becomes to me. What exactly does being a man of war entail? What you're doing is simply looking for ways to claim that Jesus and Christianity are better than Mohammed and Islam? Who cares? That's why we have freedom of religion. You should know by now that Islam is the vehicle that al-Qaeda uses to fuel its fire so to speak. Osama's stated goals are political, anyway you spin it. Yes he is a Muslim and Islam is the most important part of al-Qaeda, but their goals and their actions are political. So once again, why don't you just drop the "Jesus was perfect, Mohammed was evil" thing because it's wrong and it only hurts people. The perpetuation of such an idea only worsens the understanding between Americans and our Muslim enemies. Understanding each other is the first step to getting along with each other.

I took a look at the link.

Fair enough i understand your concerns. Now i would like you to click on the link to the quranic verse itself. I don't know about you , but i don't see anything remotely sexual about the verse. Nowhere is there anything condoning, appreciating or even INSINUATING homosexuality. In fact i would like others to go check out the quranic verse itself and tell me how it can be concluded that muslim men get young boys for their pleasure.

I agree that the SITE that quotes the quran says it condones pedophelia, but i think that a cursory glance even will prove that it is anti-muslim, and not actually a site that seeks understanding.. Only condemnation.

I also notice that there is a picture of an old mullah kissing a young boy on the lips. Again, not everybody is american , and physical closeness takes different forms around the world without being sexual.

In arab culture it is the norm that men kiss each other on the lips. In fact it was so in russian culture, in italian culture, in french culture. The eskimos rub their noses together and paki guys ALWAYS hug each other even if you are distant acquaintances.

In denmark i have seen fathers kis their daughters on the lips and i have seen mothers kiss their sons on the lips.

The fact that YOU designate this as sexual behaviour, does not mean that other cultures do. SO i can see that this site is obviously american, and they are trying to scandalize something which is cultural and not theological.

I would like to point out that during ALL of our discussions i have never once trashed your mesenger, nor have i trashed your religion. I trash your church, but i curse the mullahs as much if not more, because i believe that insitutionalized religion that creates a bureaucracy are detrimental to humans and this has been proven historically.

So i would like you to tone down the insults and the ranting just a wee bit. Not because i get mad, but because you obviously have valid concerns about Islam. I am trying to tell you that the message of your religion and my religion are from the same source. As a result i do not discount your prophet, or insult him, or curse him or any of his followers.

Just because Islam like christianity has unscrupulous people willing to exploit it, does not invalidate the message. I am saying that the exploitation of Jesus' message by the various churches is the same as the exploitation of mohammad's mesage by various mullahs.

Now while i have the ability to distinguish between the mesage and it's exploiters, i wish you would have an open enough mind to to the same.

Why are muslims saying they will kill those who print cartoons of muhamed? People mock Christians every day and I never hear of a Christian threaten to kill those who mock Jesus or make a cartoon of him. Do you think it is right to kill someone for printing a cartoon?
