I only need the two I found to know what is going on. Neither the Fire Department or the University are private businesses. The University is clearly a liberal school so that one is obvious.

The Fire Department in Minneapolis? Not hard to figure that one out also. One of the most if not the most liberal cities in the nation.

How many private businesses do you know of that have known lesbians at the helm?

I bet more than have lezbos and homos. In private business, you keep your sexual identity personal. If you are in government or a university, you make a point of making sure your sexual identity is known if you're queer. After all, that shows you are progressive. Being queer or bisexual is the popular thing.
