Poll: Overwhelming Support for Ann Coulter

More than 125,000 people have now responded to a NewsMax.com online poll about Ann Coulter’s controversial new book "Godless: The Church of Liberalism,” and the overwhelming majority still support Coulter and strongly disagree with her critics.

"These broads are millionaires, lionized on TV and in articles about them, reveling in their status as celebrities and stalked by grief-arazzis,” Coulter wrote.

Hillary Clinton immediately lashed out at Coulter for what she called her "vicious, mean-spirited attack” on the widows and said the book should have been called "heartless.”

Matt Lauer also went on the attack against Coulter when she appeared on NBC's "Today” show, and the New York Times said her book is "in need of flogging.”

But the NewsMax poll shows that respondents by far believe Coulter – whose four previous books have also been bestsellers – was right in criticizing the four 9/11 widows from New Jersey.

NewsMax will provide the results of this poll to major media and share them with radio talk show hosts across the country. Here are the poll questions and results:

2) What is your opinion of Ann Coulter? Favorable: 82 percent Unfavorable: 18 percent

3) Do you agree with Hillary Clinton that Ann’s book is "vicious” and "heartless”? Yes, agree: 18 percent No, don’t agree: 82 percent

4) Has the media coverage of Ann Coulter and her book been fair? Fair: 22 percent Not fair: 78 percent

5) Of the three, who would you trust for news and information? Katie Couric: 13 percent Ann Coulter: 81 percent Al Franken: 6 percent

I should start by saying that I am not really familiar with Coulter's book, nor the Jersey widows. From what I know of them, it sounds like Coulter may have been perfectly justified in her criticism, though I'd imagine that her book was also a bit cold.

That being said, let me point out that these poll numbers were taken from NewsMax, a news site designed for conservatives. Because of this, the survey did not use a representative sample. It is most likely that people who visit the NewsMax site will vote in a conservative fashion on any question.

Beyond this, I should mention that public opinion does not determine what is actually right or wrong, though I know you made no claims that it does.

Alias, I don't mind debating with people from your stand point. But continuously posting from this single biased blog is getting very annoying. And as stipulated before, this poll shows absolutely nothing besides the already obvious fact that conservatives back Ann Coulter.

I think it's funny that Ann Coulter demeans her own sex too. Way to go Ann Coulter, out there solving the world's problems aren't you.

I am sorry it is getting annoying for you. Maybe you should not read what I post if it annoys you. That's what I do when I find something on TV that annoys me, I change the channel.
