You would think the fact that damn near every person for eating animals is a fat bastard in the show, including Penn, would tell them something. Wrong.

I'm all for eating animals but there is no doubt they need to be treated better before they become food... for their sake and ours. Sure PETA goes over the top sometimes, but that would be a natural reaction for most of us if we only realized how food animals are treated in this country.

Penn & Teller should stick to dumb tricks and jokes.

There is little doubt that the world in general is more liberal than it was 50 years ago and beyond. Conservatives are simply roadblocks on the path to an ever more progressive and liberal world. What a sad existence.

Who cares if they are fat, what does that gave to do with anything? One of the main spoksemen of PETA in the show was against Animal testing, but used that animal testing to save her own life. She tried to rationalize it by saying it's okay for her to use it so she can stay alive to keep the word of PETA moving. Okay, that is not direct quotes, but PETA really is, Bullshit.

PETA is against having pets, eating animals, using animals for medical advancement which in the show they point out that medical researchw ould drop by 90% if we werent allowed to use animals. Hell, they are even against blinde-seeing eye dogs.

These people are fucking crazy.

Our children reaching puberty earlier and earlier because the amount of hormones injected into our food animals should tell you how crazy they are.

I have never heard of this, but it sounds a little insane. Is this one of those half-assed conspiracy theories, or is there even a little substance to it?

And, yes, they are fucking crazy.

If they are for protecting animals from torture, then fine, more power to them. But with their radical beliefs our future would completely plumet.

“Over the last two years a number of important studies have shown that the information used by regulators to assess the safety of hormone residues in food has been wildly inaccurate,” he said. “It is now clear that very much smaller amounts of sex hormones in food than previously thought can cause genital abnormalities in baby boys, premature puberty in girls and increase the risk of cancers later in life.

I have not done any research of my own, but just out of curiosity, is premature puberty bad? It's probably not helpful by any means but is there any side effects to it?

Wrong.

Stupid and wrong.

You know, better nutrition and health-care will do that to a person.

They stand a higher risk of breast cancer (and other cancers) when they are older. Not to mention the fact that parents have to deal with a whole range of issues that they were hoping would be a little farther down the road. It is pretty odd when 7 year olds have to start wearing deodorant. Parents that have seen the onset of this and start buying organic products have been able to slow/reverse the process.

Who disapproves of torturing baby animals?
Nobody? Good. Got that one out of the way.

PETA stands for a bunch of crazy stuff. They have some obvious barriers which make some sense, but to me the

majority of their issues are just plain whacko.

"Growth hormones"? I have no problem doing research on the issue, and possibly the solution is to limit or remove

growth hormones from the process of how our stock animals are raised.

But what else does PETA stand for...

1) No cages. Ever. Animals are to roam free.
They would be made to roam free and into traffic and into areas where other "roaming" animals can eat them and away from people who feed and shelter them...
I find the concept of "no cages" to be ridiculous. I was first introduced into what PETA stood for when my folks

got a letter from PETA telling us that we should let all our animals run free. It was ridiculous to me then and

it's ridiculous to me now.
Such a solution would cause animals to die, which I don't think PETA understands.

2) No animal testing. Ever.
I can understand how some aspects of animal testing could be questionable as cruel and inhumane, but eliminating all animal testing is ridiculous to me.

3) How "food" is made.
It's not a dirty little secret. People don't know because they don't make an effort to FIND OUT how their food is made. When I was 10, I went with my dad to drop off the cows for selling to people who turn them into meat. I watched the cows be killed, and was a little shocked but realized that it was the most humane way to do it.
If people don't want to eat meat because of how animals are killed, then so be it. It's their choice.
If people don't want OTHERS to eat meat because of how animals are killed, I question them as to what would be a better method. Because quite frankly, I believe that their real objection is not in HOW the animal is killed, but rather in that ANY animal is killed.

IMO, PETA is a group big on ideals and short on realization of the impact of how their ideals will affect the animals and others. One of the examples of this is in how PETA "rescued" a certain number of animals (from what I believe were animal shelters), but ended up having to euthenize the majority of these "rescued" animals anyways. Ergo, no "rescue".
