Is this what passes for CNN these days?
On the August 24 edition of his CNN Headline News program, nationally syndicated radio host Glenn Beck claimed that Braille on walls (used to identify rooms for blind people) "drives me out of my mind." When he made his comment, Beck was discussing the "politically correct world we live in," which, he claimed, will not allow "stereotypes or sensitive questions" to be broached. He explained that "a blind person would have to be feeling all of the walls to find [the] 'kitchen.' " Beck then waved his hands about, presumably to mimic the actions of a frustrated blind person. He then said, "Just to piss them [blind people] off, I'm going to put in Braille on the coffee pot ... 'Pot is hot.' "

As Media Matters for America has documented, Beck has previously claimed that one reason different races are "afraid to hang out with each other" is that "we're afraid ... somebody's gonna sic the NAACP on us, or somebody's gonna sic an attorney on us." He has also mocked the names of Egyptians students and used mock commercials to make fun of Mexican immigrants.

Media Matters - CNN's Beck on the blind: "Just to piss them off, I'm going to put in Braille on the coffee pot ... 'Pot is hot.' Ow!"

I like Beck. He makes a lot of good points. That's why CNN hired him. They are trying to get some sensible people to watch who are mostly watching Fox for some sanity in an insane media.

Is what he said here "sensible"?
Or is it just plain blibber-blabber?

It's very sensible. Did you ever walk up to a drive-through bank teller window and see Braille? I have. Why would Braille be on a drive-through teller window at a bank? Is a blind man driving a car?

You acknowlege Fox has a conservative bias. You acknowlege that CNN is hiring people like this to bring them over from Fox. Yet you fail to acknowlege that the mainstream in general has a conservative bias, and you actually believe the media is liberal? I highly doubt a liberal station would allow a conservative to spin their news for them.

Wow. Mind-bogglingly without thought.
People can WALK UP TO the braille ATM.
In addition, a blind man could be IN THE BACK SEAT of a car and have the driver stop at the ATM so he can withdraw cash.

You really don't think AT ALL about these things, do you.

I do not think Fox has a conservative bias. Fox may seem conservative to you because you get both views where as on the other cable channels you usually get the liberal side only. There is more debate between liberals and conservatives on Fox than any other cable channel. Reilly has liberals on all the time to debate them. Hannity and Colmes are liberal and conservative and debate both all the time. Most of the media is liberal in my opinion. What is your reasoning for CNN hiring Beck? He is clearly conservative.

Why would a blind man walk up to a drive-through teller window when he can just go inside the bank? If he is in the back seat of the car, then why would there be a need for braille? The driver can do the talking and transactions for him. It doesn't make sense.

Troll confirmed.

There is little doubt that the world in general is more liberal than it was 50 years ago and beyond. Conservatives are simply roadblocks on the path to an ever more progressive and liberal world. What a sad existence.

And stand in line and risk pissing people like you off who get pissed off by incredibly minor stupid stuff?
I hear they shudder at the thought, and that's why they don't go in.

Oh wait. That's not it.
The bank actually CLOSES at times, and then they use the ATM just like the rest of us.

You're not even trying to make sense at this point, are you...

Oh yes. Just give the driver your card and your pin number, and trust him to give you the right change because EVERYBODY trusts other people with their ATM pin numbers...

It doesn't make sense because you're being obstinate, and you typically throw common sense and reason out the door when you do that.

A better question would be considering what I just said, why should they NOT put braille on there. Do we live in a society where we tell handicapped people that they need to get assistance for everything?

I shudder to think what would happen if you ever needed assistance for a handicap.
