Jimmy Carter's Book Full of Lies?
Wow! One of Carter's longtime aides QUIT because, in his words, Carter's book on Israel & The Arabs is "full of lies".

Could it be that Jimmy Carter, though a very nice man, was both a terrible President and terrible author?

Carter is doing the same thing Bill Clinton is doing.....running around trying to repair their legacy with half truths and outright lies. The younger generation will buy it. Those of us who lived through their failed presidencies know the truth.

In a few years, will Bush be doing the same thing?
Oh wait. He's actively engaged in it right now...

I don't think he really cares what people think. A true leader ignores the crying mobs and hand wringers.

ROFLMAO!
But I'm sure if it were a conservative issue with the majority, you'ld be all over focusing on how in a democracy we go with the "popular" opinion...

I have no doubt that Bush doesn't care what people think. That much is obvious.
That's part of the reason the Republicans lost the last election with such a significant shift in both sides of Congress.

And as long as Republicans keep thinking that they don't "really care what people think", you're going to keep handing victories to the democrats.

If I were a partisan Democrat, I would thank you for that.
But the truth is that such thinking doesn't improve the system, it only leads to people going for the lesser of two weevils. And because of that, I find your approach pathetic...

No, there was not a significant shift in congress. In fact, this was one of the lowest shifts in the 6th year in a president's 8 years in history and the dems had to use conservative candidates to attain it.

Good leaders don't shift according to what is popular or how the wind blows. Good leaders have a vision and carry it out no matter how many dogs are nipping at their heels. You don't understand that.

A shift from a republican dominated congress that had X number of years running, to a democrat dominated congress in one midterm election. Had EVERYBODY buzzing about it and the dynamic shift in D.C.
And you think it wasn't "significant"...

Man. You NEVER admit to what you don't want to accept, do you...

Can you prove either of these claims? Preferably the first...

Good leaders do that WHEN IT WORKS and when it achieves the needed objective.
Bush isn't a good leader.
Iraq is basically looking more and more like a loss. Intelligence reports show his efforts are INCREASING terrorism.

And you admire him because he wants to drive deeper into the tar pits, as EVEN HIS FELLOW REPUBLICANS jump ship...
You lack the good sense to know when you should be embarrassed.

It is interesting that that same "shift of Congress" happened to Clinton during his second term. Hmmmmm...
