You two really don't think things out before you make such moronic statements.

If a website or a channel in the United States openly supported the overthrow of our government, it would also be taken down, and probably called treasonous by people like you. In fact, this has happened numerous times in our country. Remember the New Yorker arrested for providing Hezbollah TV? At least one anarchist website that I know of called for such things was shut down, and it's creator was taken away at a political protest, and all of his material was confiscated.

But I don't claim that Bush is a dictator because of it.

We know Bush is going to leave office in 2 years. When is Chavez going to leave office? I say when he wants to and this is part of the plan. What if Bush threatened to shut down all the cable news show that have people on who call for his impeachment? They are doing that you know. Bush has never said a word. The president cannot do that in America. You don't think this is significant? I do. Freedom of the press and all that stuff ya know.

He leaves when his term is up, or otherwise when the people vote him out or recall him. There isn't any evidence to believe otherwise. I'm not saying your wrong, I'm just saying that there isn't any evidence to believe he wants dictatorship. In fact he says he dislikes communism and dictatorship just as much, perhaps more than 'imperialism'.

There's something you're going to have to understand. Impeachment is a legal process whereby the people and the legislature have a check on the executive. It is legal and a part of the system. Coups are a complete different story. And the President in fact has the authority to suspend certain rights and privileges in the threat of a violent uprising as conferred upon him in the Constitution.

The channel in Venezuela called for an illegal coup, not impeachment. These are two completely different things, and in fact talking of impeachment (or recalling) is totally legal and is not suppressed in Venezuela. In fact, there was a recall referendum of Chavez in 2004; the Venezuelan people turned out in record numbers to defeat the referendum, keeping him in the presidency. If anything, that is more democratic than our system of impeachment.

So you're FOR censorship and the suppression of freedom of speech - as long as it someone of your ilk doing it.

Your sweeping generalities are getting old. I'm beginning to think you don't actually comprehend what I write. First of all, I never said I was for censorship, nor the suppression of freedom of speech. It's just that I think we all can agree on the fact that freedom of the press and free speech has a line. Otherwise we'd be seeing child pornography on day-time television. Second of all, my personal beliefs are irrelevant in the debate on hand. I was more exposing the complete idiocy and hypocrisy of labeling Chavez with the term of "dictator" for these reasons, seeing as the presidency in the United States has the same authority (actually more) to censor things that openly endorse and mobilize the illegal overthrow of the government, and in fact has used that authority many more times than Chavez.

I'm beginning to think that you're not smart enough to realize how stupid your writing is.

First of all, you're condoning Chavez's censorship. Period.
Second, I've said nothing about your "personal beliefs."
Third, comparing Chavez to the President of the United States - regardless of said president's political party - is idiotic.

So put on your big boy undies and watch. Chavez is pressing for totalitarianism. It probably won't work, but there will undoubtedly be countless thousands of people die as a result of it - before Chavez is either assassinated or run out of office.

First of all, I never denied I am condoning censorship that covers up mobilizing of a crime. Just like I condone the taking down of an anarchist website that tells people to attack police officers, the government, and how to make bombs. Just like I condone the censorship of nudity on day-time television.

Second, you said something directly related to my "personal beliefs." You claim that I am in favor of suppressing political free speech, so long as it doesn't come from my ilk. Seriously, I didn't think you're that old to be having a bad case of Alzheimer's. I recommend getting saved by stem cells.

Okay, believe what you want. But I tend to give people the label of "dictator" when they are actually dictators. But okay, I really don't care if you want to believe in something that has no basis on evidence.
