That is silly. Sure it would be wrong to charge for entry but let the church show the game.

DA BEARS!!!

But the church, just out of good will, prob shouldn't have charged admission. That is profiting off of material that only the NFL can profit from. If it was free then there shouldn't be a problem, because that's just a Super Bowl party. You can't just outlaw watching TV because it's a group activity.

What if they were serving food and beverage? When I have a party most people bring a snack or beer/wine/booze (it's only polite) .Sports bars get around the one TV so big because that's what they do everyday, but a few bars around here are charging admission to the party because of the food and stuff .

They probably purchase a license or simply ask for permission.

There is little doubt that the world in general is more liberal than it was 50 years ago and beyond. Conservatives are simply roadblocks on the path to an ever more progressive and liberal world. What a sad existence.

Haha!
You are right about Monday needing to be a national holiday.

An exception is made for sports bars and other businesses that show televised sports as a part of their everyday operations.

Sports bars do not charge for admission. However, for certain events such as pay-per views they do. The main problem was the church charging for admission, followed by their plans to use a projector screen. CBS and the NFL have the rights to the game and can limit the method in which others use their material, as is the case here.

Conservatism, I repeat is not an ideology. It does not breed fanatics....But if you want men who seek, reasonably and prudently, to reconcile the best in wisdom of our ancestors with the change which is essential to a vigorous civil social existence, then you will do well to turn to conservative principles

But would that be so horrible? Would it be a bad thing if every church and corner bar had their own Super Bowl bash? Obviously the sponsors will be happier with more viewers, so we're not talking about anybody's life made worse here. And what exactly is the meaning of limiting the size of the television and outlawing projectors? That is plain ridiculous.

You are right that the NFL has the rights to this broadcast, and they made the decision to send that broadcast out to everyone. Specifying which televisions people are allowed to use to view that broadcast and who they're allowed to view it with is total nonsense: just because you've got the rights on a broadcast shouldn't mean you can decide the intricate details of how it is allowed to be viewed. It is their choice to broadcast it to everyone.

Your right they can broadcast it to anyone that they want to untill they charge a fee to veiw it. Then it violates copyright laws that the NFL owns on every game and they alone say who can charge and under what conditions they will allow it. Welcome to big buisness, thats all it is they have to have a way to pay those muti million a year contracts somehow don't they.aftre all nothing these days is really free is it?
