This world has changed jefferson. I watch the exact same TV as you do.. minus the local channels, just as you cannot view the local channels here. Also i happen to have stayed in the US over several periods. So yeah i have more than a cursory knowledge of American Media.

Anyhow apart from this little irellevancy ( which you could have answered yourself had you been able to get past your prejudiced view of the primitive state of Pakistan ) you have not asked any question. And you most CERTAINLY have not asked a question that i would not answer..

Interesting.... Duuuh.

I certainly hope that for every article that is biased that should be objective, someone is writing a letter to the editor to call the reporter on it. Or they are cancelling subscriptions due to biased reporting, with a note to the editor on why they are cancelling. Complaining about it here won't make a difference.

Also, hopefully each of us is educating our children to be discerning consumers of media.

Well... there are newspapers and magazines that are going broke. It's not ALL because people are sick of the biased crap, but that's likely a part of the reason.

Jefferson's 'research' is from Media Research - whose MISSION STATEMENT is: "the Leader in Documenting, Exposing and Neutralizing Liberal Media Bias"

now that's an objective organization if I ever saw one

Conservatism: Self-centered mean-spiritedness fueled by ignorance and misguided self-importance.

Bigotry is a social disease.

Legalized same-sex marriage almost certainly benefits those same-sex couples who choose to marry, as well as the children being raised in those homes. - David Blankenhorn is president of the New York-based Institute for American Values and the author of "The Future of Marriage."

Newspapers are going broke because of technology, not bias. New technologies are invented and old technologies are done away with in the advancing market all the time. No conspiracy here. The newspapers that survive have customers who are old fashioned, or a specific type of group. In that sense, bias is helping some papers. Some people want to read the conservative or liberal side of things. It's helped New York Times for example.

That's also why magazines sell much better than newspapers. They're usually about a specific kind of topic, rather than something they can just get on the internet or watching CNN.
