I saw on the TV last night that Imus is suing NBC. Seem NBC had a contract with him to say controversial and unexceptable statements. Sound like he has them by the short hairs and some of this maybe NBC's faulty.
I am certainly not sticking up for him or defending what he said. Just thought I'd put this into prospective.

I did not catch the news last night; but that wouldn't surprise me. We have known all along that CONTROVERSY SELLS! I cannot speak on the legal aspects of any contract's clauses (supposed or otherwise); that is for the courts to decide. This has smelled like "choreography"to me from day one.Whatever the outcome; I hope all of America is learning a lesson here.

I feel that it is okay for Imus to sue NBC. But he should haul these two bozos into court: Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson. Together they create more silliness among themselves than Imus ever would.

Hmmn, Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson. . . the words "opportunistic jerks" come to mind. . . Anyway, do these guys really care about blacks so much as they do about filling their own wallets and getting famous? I don't mean to start something here - I am just curious about this.

I'll tell you what: I mentioned earlier in this thread that I have more respect for the late-Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., than I would for those two peas in a pod (Sharpton and Jackson ).

Sometimes I wonder if these two guys are true leaders of the people they think they represent.

MLK fought for a better cause in his life. These two nerds fight for nothing but their own farsightedness.

To be quite honest, I think those to do more to instigate racism than not.

Excellent point, Tyreay. But they don't care about that. It is their own holy war they are fighting, just to get their names plastered on the front page of every newspaper.

On what grounds could Imus bring Sharpton and Jackson into court? I don't defend either; but they were not the one who made the inflammatory comment!

Sharpton said something about Romney's religion the other day..I wonder why he wasn't fired for that..

Oh yeah, Sharpton apologized for his comments too. For some reason, he can be forgiven, but not Imus.

Nobody can yet explain to me why White America seems to run to Sharpton when an act such as this occurs... and what actual job does Sharpton hold that he could be fired from?
I personally can't stand the man myself. Another poster to this forum referred to him as an opportunistic jerk. That comment was right on the money.
Another point; I haven't been willing to label Mr. Imus as a racist; but I will now change my position. Not to label him as a racist; but rather as a sucker or an idiot for allowing himself to get put in this position in the first place.I am now starting to see claims that he was hired to do just what he did... stir up controversy.
I'm sorry; but that is no excuse. He should have known better. I believe him to be of reasonable intelligence to have been able to draw the conclusions of his actions beforehand- hence the labels sucker and idiot.Well, for whatever the reason or reasons for Imus's actions; he must now bear the burden. I still think CBS and NBC are the unamed culprits in this whole sorry episode.
