That's the problem... There was never a time when everytown was like Pleasantville! That's T.V.! It's a fantasy...

Furthermore, I know I for one would hate to live in such a place... I'd rather live in modern Philly any day rather than 1950's Pleasantville.

Also let us not forget that in the 50's women had to stay at home, and blacks stayed in their place... Do you want to bring that back too?

LMAO...

Don't get me wrong. I know where you are coming from, and I believe you have the best of intentions. But what is comfortable for one is not comfortable for all. We all have to share this world, we can't shape it to only meet the needs and desires of ourselves and our families... We have to take everyone into consideration, and everyone need to make some sacrifice. If we all give a little, the world will be better for all.

Whats best, is all we have to give, is tolerance and loving-kindness... Then how great could the world be?

I wouldn't mind going back to 1980 knowing what I know now. I would buy all the MicroSoft stock I could. I have to admit that I like what women wear now as opposed to the 1950s. Ok, maybe Pleasantville isn't such a great idea after all.

Getting a little back on topic - I really did mean what I said about walking on eggshells. Too many people getting offended too easily and people like Al Sharpton waiting around the corner to scream "racist."

I agree... there is a fine line. There is a balance... You want to be tolerant, but that also involves some tolerance of offense now doesn't it?

You make a good point.

Thank YOU, billybobama!!! People in this country have the stupid notion that they have the right NOT to be offended.

I've really rolled this one over in my mind since this came out. This so-called "intolerance" and "politically correct" business will be the death of our right to free speech if people don't wise up.

Good grief! hasn't anyone heard of the little ditty kids used to sing in the 40s and 50s when anything offensive was directed at them? "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but WORDS can NEVER hurt me!" Some of the adults in this generation need to adapt that attitude.

If you don't like what someone says, just ignore them! Or else some day no one will be able to speak their OPINION on anything!

It's unbelievable how overly sensitive people have become! I think some people just can't wait to be offended so they can have an excuse to bitch.

Free speech was still alive in the 40s and 50s. Funny how blacks are offended at the N word, but it's okay for them to call whites "Honkys". Talk about a double standard! It was pointed out tonight on Glenn Beck that Sharpton and Jackson aren't offended by anything the rappers rap about. They talk about "ho's" and f*ing them all the time. Guess what? No one has to listen to it if they don't like it! Like everyone tells Christians who complain about the X rated violence and explicit sex scenes on television, "if you don't like it, flip the channel or turn it off."

Glenn Beck did it, again!

Pointed out the hypocrisy of the American public.

They raised all colors of hell when the "exotic dancer" aka stripper filed a case of rape against the Duke LaCrosse players. Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton were "Johnnie on the Spot" to make sure that this young "lady's" day in court was realized, screaming at the top of their lungs "RACISM", "double-standard", blah, blah, blah, ad nauseum, pitting blacks against white.

Fast forward. NOW, we know she made FALSE STATEMENTS. And for now, the Duke players have been exonerated. But what of their futures? Their college days, and their reputations have been RUINED.

Look at the damage this one lying woman did to these decent, young men.

NOW, compare it to the remarks said IN JEST by Don Imus, a man known for for cracking jokes over the air. A woman's basketball team was OFFENDED. BUT, their reputations were not ruined. It won't hurt their futures. And yet, the blood-thirsty public called for and got Imus fired.

I don't know where you're headed, America. But you worry me. Somewhere along the line you've lost your bearings, unable to properly judge situations or circumstances, and lack the ability to distinguish right from wrong.

I can only hope someone is considering a lawsuit against Jackson and Sharpton. I don't know what else will shut their big, fat, RACIST, trouble-making mouths.
