oh yeah forgot "blacks" are a PC no-no
The correct term would be african-americans
what should we be called to be PC friendly then? Whitean-americans?

I just heard Deidra Imus say the Rutger basketball team are getting hate mail emials. That only hurts Imus's chances of returning. He may go to satellite radio. I watched him and his gasng every morning before i went to work. I will mis him very much. What he said was wrong BUT alot of us are racist to some extent and that is normal. This utopian standard of behavior is only a method for all peoples to be the same. I don't look like, act like, think like and feel like another single human since creation. Some things I love, some things I hate with a bunch of things in the middle. "Political Correctness" is what they have in North Korea and we are moving closer to them than they are to us. We have to stop lynching people for expressing themselves. I don't yell "fire" in a theater because I respect others but I might tell someone to turn their damn cellphone off if it rings every three minutes in the theater. It just seems like everyone is watching every place we go nowdays and I find it a little on the scary side. Don't you? Careful someone will be reading you response!

Other conservative talking heads say things like this (perhaps worse) all the time and there isn't a peep about it. You'll probably find stuff like this on every episode of the Rush Limbaugh talk show. I mean, Glenn Beck called Hurricane Katrina victims "scumbags" and asks every Muslim he meets whether that person is 'aiding our enemies', but there isn't a word of outcry and that asshat is still on the waves and on CNN spreading idiocy.

I think they seriously overreacted. The Rutgers basketball coach made a long impassioned speech as if Imus killed one of them. It's pretty sick. I understand denouncing what he said...but it's just gone too far in my opinion.

You know for being the "minority" they sure get the MAGORITY of the community moving with them

And I just need to know....how has Howard Stern still have his job after countless remarks yet Imus says one thing and he is gone? Anyone please explain that one to me
One thing? Are you kidding? This Rutger's thing is just the straw that broke the camel's back.

Sure.

Though you may not be familiar with the term, calling a black person 'nappy headed' is insultive. Yes, our hair is more coarse and curly, but that particuular phrase is really only used with contempt. Whether or not he meant it that way, he raised hackles.

Honestly, I was WAY more offended by the 'jigaboo' comment made by the person he was talking to.

I understand now. I never knew that "nappy-headed" related to the hair. You learn something new everyday -- sometimes when you don't want to. Heh, don't know what a "jigaboo" is either. Never mind.

This whole Don Imus episode is just another example of the dumbing down of America.

All week channel after channel has been covering Imus in excruciating detail and all the talking heads have been spewing their self-righteous twaddle.

It even pushed that other major world story down the list - who fathered Anna Nichole's baby.

Meanwhile a suicide bomber breached security in the Iraqi Parliament in Baghdad, a major bridge was destroyed and more people were killed.

But we don't care about Iraq any more, that hasn't made prime time for ages

OMG! I haven't heard anyone say jigaboo in 15 or 20 years. And I live in the middle of one of the whitest counties in The South!

Where do they find these people?
Right now America spends $700 billion every year on foreign oil. That's our money going overseas when it could be staying here. We have to stop this.

Fact is there are certain protected groups in America for whom almost anything can be interpreted as a "slur", including black people (ooops, African-Americans) and homosexuals.

Many other groups have no "protection" and can be insulted all day long with complete impunity, including Christians, politicians, Mexicans, immigrants, fat people and of course the #1 target - White Males!

Hope that helps!
