I've seen it now, and I think it's sad when I ponder just how much of a nation of tightwads we are actually becoming. . .

See, the reason I won't be voting Republican in the next election is that the Republicans don't seem to have any clear cut agenda or issues. . . except for the war. . . I mean, sure, they talk about tax cuts and the War on Terror. However, other than that, they have absolutely nothing! Consider me a proud libertarian, as well as someone who loves the constitution and his country too much to put up with the nonsense on Capitol Hill any longer. . .
I just think that it's sad that the difference between Democrats and Republicans nowadays has boiled down to people who are against the war vs. people who are for it. . . that's surely not what our founding fathers intended for the difference in our two party system to be. . .

Nice to see a reasonable Conservative.

I don't think the founding fathers wanted a two-party system. Washington actually warned against political parties because of the fact they divided the nation.
Perhaps the party system should be done away with so people could vote on the personal merits of a candidate rather than a political ideal. Then we might be able to see some positive changes within this country.
Our Task must be to free ourselves... by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures, the whole of nature, and its beauty.

Unfortunately the 'parties' are a multi-million $cookie$ business and the children are in charge of the cookie jar.

Wow... how can anybody actually support people who think like this? I agree with NR 100%! Furthermore, I think T&C hit the nail on the head... A two party system leads to inbreeding... The results are the same as when cousins fuck... you get a retarded political system that is completely out of touch with reality...

Hear, hear!

But at least democrats are talking about healthcare issues and wages. Not a lot now, but something.

Great post. And I think it does hit the mark on how far removed our "politicians" have become compared to the "public servants" of years gone by.
