But in addition I would say we should stop making it so easy to justify... If we stop waging illegal wars, and butting our noses in where it does not belong, we won't be attacked. I think if we are attacked we should respond with a swift and overwhelming fury, and be done with it. That fury should be focused ONLY on those who attacked us, it should not be used as a reason to justify the dismantiling of our own civil liberties, and bullying the world... | There was no reason to post a link to a post you just made a few minutes ago. My question to you was meant to be more military in nature. In other words, what kind of overwhelming force would be use? How do we target such a force? |

It was seen in Iran, Jordan, and other Islamic countries. But now, the Iraq was has actually recruited more terrorists, because these people now believe what was told to them about the west. Why wouldn't they? They have the proof right there. |

As for the force to use, and how to use it, that would be a decision that would have to be made depending on the circumstance at hand. I can say what we should not do... we should not invade a soverign nation that had nothing to do with an attack on us, that never threatened us, that never posed a threat to us... |

Since we both have military backgrounds, I thought you would be interested in how I think we should proceed.
I think we should make wide use of covert special operations type forces to essentially sneak up and infiltrate the terrorist cells. I agree that a all-out attack on an entire country is wasteful and actually strengthens the terrorist's postions. |
