Ah, America high schools aren't what they used to be. these days you have children (adults!) graduating beyond hte age of 18 because they simply cannot make it through in the four years allotted. but nobody can say that fighting in a war would be better than high school. no way.

If you are from Nigeria, how would you know what American high schools 'used to be'?

it is a noble end if the cause is noble. however I do not think this president has a noble bone in his body. I weep for the soldiers and pray for them to come home. your post is sadly so very *true*.

I don't know if this has to do anything with it, but in some school systems early graduation is allowed, after required requisites are met. One of my older brothers was able to do so . Also, doesn't the miltary (any or all braches) have early enlistment programs? Could this have any effect upon our viewpoints?

I don't care if you are from the Alpha Centauri galaxy. On here, you just a avatar and a line of type. We don't know each other. It's all good.

Just to let you all know, I got a letter from the school, in the first day of school packet, which asked that if I did not want my senior child's information shared with the military, to sign the paper and return it to school.
I don't know if this is routine in other school districts around my state, or if they are doing this in other states, but I was happy to see the choice given to the parents here.

It is the same in my sons' school district here in SoCal. My kids are in elementary school and I check that box anyway and I'll check that box until they graduate high school.
