911Myths

Here's what they say:

The web is full of sites covering various conspiracy theories. Many seem well-researched, and appear to have plenty of detailed documentation to prove their claims. But are they really true?

We don’t know, but one good way to start is by checking a few claims for yourself. We tried that with a number of 9/11 sites, with surprising results. Many of the “facts” we read were distorted, or simply wrong. Quotes were routinely taken out of context. Relevant information was often ignored. And much of this could be discovered with a minimum of online research.

Whatever you believe about 9/11, the spreading of false claims helps no-one, and we’d like to play a small part in revealing some of them. We’re not about debunking entire conspiracies, then, but will use this site to zoom in on what we think are the more dubious stories, revealing the misquotes, the distortions, the inaccuracies that are so common online.

But does this make us an authority? No. If we’ve an overall message here, it’s check things for yourself. Don’t trust a site just because it’s telling you what you want to believe. Don’t believe us without evaluating our arguments and checking the references we provide, either (we’re as likely to make mistakes as anyone else). Look into the claims yourself, discover both sides of the argument, and make your own mind up. The truth deserves nothing less.
Wow thanks for sharing that site!! Bookmarked!

pensacola_niceman, check out the photos below. Surely that could have no impact on WTC7...right??

I know you weren't born yesterday, but do some research and don't believe those sites just because they tell you what you want to hear.
Don't forget, the highjackers thought they were using the plane intercom system to announce to the passengers that they were taking over the plane...That's how that flight itself, command knew for sure had been highjacked...

So although they may have known how to fly a plane, they didn't have intimate knowledge with all of it's functions communication wise...

When I was in my early 20's, I was working for a government contractor.

I was able to actually fly the F14 trainer at Miramar.

I could fly the thing, no problem. Could bank, turn, go up, down, all around.

The one thing I couldn't do was land. I crashed every time.

If you aren't worried about landing safely, minimum flight experience is needed.

They actually just did a special on the History Channel last week about the conspiracy theories surrounding 9-11, and specifically the on-line controversy surrounding the making of 'Loose Change'...

What I found interesting is that they pitted the experts in the fields that were implied by the directors of 'Loose Change' to have happened...

And when the experts refuted each particular claim, the directors of 'Loose Change' actually admitted that what they've been saying was incorrect? Then admit that they then re-edit, and re-post their film to reflect a different perspective to still create doubt against the expert advice?

As they, the directors of 'Loose Change', put it in the special- they aren't so much trying to give a factual version of the events and such, but to purely create an atmosphere of questioning in the minds of the American people...And as proof arises that counters their insinuations, they will change the movie they made to reflect a point that contridicts the expert facts...

They even admit now that they made a mistake in putting in the cell-phone controversy, so were going to remove that particular piece and focus on a different portion of that flight?

In otherwords, the film isn't to be taken seriously...It's just intended to ignite people to think outside of a box about different issues and cause dissention against the goverment. And even the creators of that particular film claim that most of their claims are just 'smoke and mirrors'...

Yeah, ali, I caught the tail end of that show.

And people take this stuff as gospel. It's scary.

Ohhh, the special also spoke about that...There wasn't just the debris falling on building 7 from the twin tower...But the building had been evacuated after the planes hit...And the debris caused a fire to start in the building that nobody knew about. Plus there were 8 different propane/gas link ups in building 7, that provided back-up power to building 7 when there was a loss of electricity...

Basically, with the fire not being contained, cause nobody was in the building or knew it was on fire, the fire reached the lines to the propane tanks, feed off of that, and the building was weakened by within, collasping the building in on itself.

They contend that if anyone had been in the building, and the fire had been known to have happened, they could have contained/put out the fire and it wouldn't have collasped...But as such they didn't know till after building 7 came down and they went through the debris.

I think they knew there were fires, ali, since there was plenty of footage. They just couldn't do anything about it, and since the building was empty, why risk more firemen's lives?

Hey, I couldn't agree with you more Knot. And I for one don't know how to fly a plane period. ROTFLMAOL!!!

All they had to concern themselves with, was the plane getting into the air, then take it over, turn it around, and fly it into their targets...

I'm thinking they thought that the fires would put themselves out so to speak...The fire sprinkler system doing the job. They talk about that too...

But as the special talked about, they suspect that when the debris was falling, that the lines to the back-up propane tanks got damaged and gas was leaking into the building, feeding the fire, making the sprinkler system inadequate.

And because there wasn't anybody in that buiding, there wasn't anyone there to determine what damage was done, or to be able to turn off the back-up propane system, allowing the sprinklers to do their jobs of putting out any fires.
