What a shame that the soldiers injured fighting for their country come home and have to fight to be taken care of.

We should all take time to contact our congressional delegates and express our support of better treatment for our veterans.

It is a shame that football has to grace the front cover of the Globe.

More importantly, though, you, your cousin, and your family have my prayers for your cousin's health. War is so dangerous.

If your cousin ever have any more red-tape problems, have you thought about writing to your senator and/or congressman?

When I tried to find ways to pay for a pair of hearing aids totalling to nearly $4K, I ended up going through the state of California.

All the state sens and aseemblymen could is recommend to the Governator in California to help get measures passed for people who can't afford such devices. He was not interested in them.

Most, if not all, insurance companies label hearing aids as "cosmetic devices". Now will someone tell me why they are called as such, when people need to be able to hear?

LOL sorry about that Highway, I copied the link directly from the "front page" link off the globe page and I thought that it would remain that picture as copied but apparently they edit the link of the "front page" as the newspaper gets published day to day. Guess I should of just cut and pasted the picture :\

I was questioning why the editors used football on the front page.

But then our local paper in San Diego had the Chargers on the front cover. Guess who will be playing who next Sunday?

Yeah, regarding hearing aids as "cosmetic devices", where you said it is screwed up - yeah, tell me about it. I searched every which way of trying to bring the cost down, while trying to avoid going through the state. I had several offers from hearing aid dispensers, but they still wanted over $2K.

I bought a pair at Costco in 1999, and they were not very good.

Your cousin has my best prayers and wishes. I find it shameful that this country can send its soldiers abroad, then to have the unmitigated gall to refuse them the proper treatment; which sometimes might be long-term in certain cases. These brave soldiers voluntarily enlisted in our armed forces to ensure the freedoms we all enjoy and now to hopefully bring those freedoms to others whom have never known such freedoms. This attitude is nothing short of disgraceful! In my humble opinion; we don't do nearly enough to recognize the commitment of our troops. We spend countless hours reading and listening to political op-eds give us their individual opinions, but all the while another soldier is not getting what help he (or she) may need. Personally, I can't think of a more deserving group of people than our military personnel who need our attention; Yet sadly, this is not so. The congressional members whom questioned Our Commander in the Middle East were pampered to the utmost. Where do our priorities lay these days in America?
