Points: 35,258, Level: 100 | Level up: 2%, 0 Points needed | | United States Air Force Was browsing around there site and noticed some cool careers with the US Air Force.
One that looked very interesting to me was being a Developmental Engineer Officer.
Heres the description: Quote: |
The smooth operation of Air Force systems infrastructure relies on the Developmental Engineer. With specialties including Aeronautical, Astronautical, Computer System, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, this technical professional plans, organizes, manages and implements systems engineering processes to assure required capability over the life cycle of Air Force systems. As a Developmental Engineer, you will specialize in engineering processes and sub processes, formulate engineering policy and procedures and coordinate and direct engineering and technical management activities and operations. You will also conduct systems planning to satisfy customer requirements, identify and transition new technologies and subsystems and provide technical consultation.
| The career pay looks great depending on how much training I would acquire. Something to think about...
Anyone ever consider the US Air Force? |

Many people claim that the Marines is the best when compared to the Army, Navy, and Airforce. I don't necessarily agree with them. Someone has got to take care of our ships, fighter planes, etc... |

We'll see | LOL, no worries. We bring Marines with us on ships because sheep are too obvious
Seriously though, I have a great deal of respect for Marines, some of the finest men I have ever served with were Marines. The Marines and Navy have a long history of poking at each other, but when it gets right down too it, we are all a part of the same combat team, and we are all comrades-in-arms. |

Level up: 53%, 72 Points needed | | I spent eleven years in the United States Army. The Granddaddy of them all. The Air Force began as the Army Air Corp. The Marines were begotten from the US Navy, but we had ground forces first, the Army.
I have had the pleasure of dealing with all branches of the Armed Forces during my time the the 82nd Airborne Division. The Air Force always carried us to our drops, although, one thing that I have never gotten over is how can three highly trained Air Force pilots, fly east to west over Sicily drop zone, which runs north to south, and has been at Fort Bragg for over 50 years. But thank God that the Air Force finally listened to the Army and kept those A-10 Wart Hogs, there is no prettier sight in the world than seeing those Devil's crosses flying overhead to take on those tanks in the open. Watching them rain fire and destruction down, the sight is indescribable.
We also had the fun of storming the beaches thanks to the US Navy and their LCMs. They would drop us off, and high tail it back to the sea out of harms way. But I will give the Navy credit, the Naval gunfire that I had the opportunity to call for support could level any ground.
The Marines, our Brothers-in-Arms, although we routinely kicked the butts in War Games, they are the real deal. The LRRPs are just as bad as the toughest Ranger. We often traded spit, punches and blood with one another, but there is no one I would rather have watching my backside or lying next to me in a trench than a Marine.

dmk | I assure you sir that the Navy is not out of harms way when we are at Sea. It's simply a different type of warfare. The USS Cole demonstrated what happens when Sailors think they are 'out of harms' way. The Sea herself presents a pretty serious threat at times. As for the Army, I think the most beautiful sight I have ever seen was the sight of the Air Cavalry coming in over the horizon to lift my team and I out of a hot combat area. There was no other air support around, but they flew in and lifted us out of there like angels of mercy, laying waste to any threats in the process.
