Best get those teen aged kids set up for college or in the Air Force, Navy or Coast Guard reserve because there is going to be a draft before 2010 and I'm betting the draft will start within a year from now! Things are going to move very fast very soon and it will require more than volunteers.

It's not if it is when and I fear it will be soon the way things are going. I would almost bet Israel will strike Iran before Bush leaves office... Iran has grid coordinates on all major bases/US troop concentrations in Iraq and Afghanistan and will strike them and Israel as they close down the gulf oil in the straits... Once Iran mines the straits or sinks an oil tanker the US strategic oil reserve opens for war fighting and with troops stretched as much as they are a draft will be instituted and it will be supported by both political parties and the American people because heating fuel and gas will be triple what they are today.

When I was drafted the waiting list for the Navy was over five years, the Coast Guard recruiter just laughed out loud and the Air Force laughed... better have a plan on day one of the next war if you have young kids!

Move to Canada? He's just 4 now though. I got a while to worry. Hell, I'll probably be dead by the time he's 18 any way. I don't see his mom letting go of him though. Isn't there a waiver for only children?

I doubt it. With a draft you have a bigger problem with military discipline and most of the grunts will be poor people who have no other options to avoid the draft.
