Actually, we did have a few guys kicked out of the Navy who served on my ship for homosexuality. One guy was a disbursing clerk and an outstanding petty officer. He was only discovered to be gay from the results on an investigation on another crew member. He got kicked out anyway.

Mind you this was the 1980s where you didn't even have "don't ask, don't tell."

There is no evidence the unit cohesion will be threatened by gays serving openly....in fact, quite the opposite seems to be true and many gays already do serve openly and are protected by commanding officers who value their military contribution. Other countries do it and so shall we....in spite of the hyperbolic and hysterical nonsense that people like you throw into the mix to justify what basically is nothing more than good old fashioned bigotry.
