Do a little research on what led directly to The Crusades.

Then come back and talk about all this "peace" in Muslim lands.

I wasn't talking about the Crusades. I was talking about the Ottoman Empire who controlled the Middle East peacefully for hundreds of years until France and Britain stepped in. All of the problems there today are the result of European imperialism during and after World War I. That's what I was talking about.
But it don't take much to get me by

You're gonna need to drop the pronouns and tell me what you're referring to. What am I thinking was peaceful?

Yeah...it was peaceful then. Britain promised Abdullah that if he led the Arab Revolt against the Ottomans they would get Arabia at the end of the war. But it was really the work of British military strategists to spread and wreak extra havoc on Ottoman forces. The British navy had just converted to oil. The politicians of Britian and France already had their minds made up about who was going to control what after the war and surprisingly enough it did not involve Arabs or Muslims. All of the problems since then and the ones today historically get their beginnings from this period of time. So in a sense, the occupying authority changed except it changed to one that did not understand Muslim culture whatsoever. The Ottomans did it right and they had peace and stability. There have been more "regime" changes in that area in the last 80 years than the previous 500, so once again I really do not understand what you're talking about.

You're being lied to.

Why not take your own suggestion and listen to the soldiers?

Thousands of Troops Say They Won't Fight

Swept up by a wave of patriotism after the U.S. invasion of Iraq, Chris Magaoay joined the Marine Corps in November 2004.

The newly married Magaoay thought a military career would allow him to continue his college education, help his country and set his life on the right path.

Less than two years later, Magaoay became one of thousands of military deserters who have chosen a lifetime of exile or possible court-martial rather than fight in Iraq or Afghanistan.

The ancient Greeks used to say, "You shall know a man by the friends that he keeps." Given the nature of their friends and advisers, what are we to conclude about the Republican party:
Stop the madness before us it stops!
