Seems to have gotten a bad reaction from many Congressmen and Senators in both parties. Rumsfeld argued that it would save the country 48 billion dollars over the next few decades. If it's money we're concerned about then lets stop fighting this horrible war...

I tend to agree. We could save just as much money by not closing the bases and devastating the local economies, as we could by the cessation of frivalous hostilities. W should not be allowed to use the armed forces as his personal gangsters to enforce his and his daddy's ways.
