Dear friend i think my previous posts have made the following things clear:

1) i do not condone violence in any shape or form.

2) I believe all HUMANS are equal. THat includes women.

3) I believe that any religion can lead to god as all religions preach peace, tolerance and love. Islam just happens to be a newer version of god's word and thus more applicable.

4) I believe that the spread of Islam can never happen through violence. Those who try that method will invariably fail. Only through debate and discourse can it spread.

I don't really understand why you insist i keep reiterating my position on such matters as i have already made them clear many many times.

MY personal opinion about these things of course puts me at odds with fundo elements in pakistan too. But being at odds with the fundos does not mean complete acceptance of US policy. Neither does being at odds with US policy make me accept muslim fundo dogma.

When i criticize i do it from the middle ground. THat's where i live because of my multi-ethnic background. LIke i said, the world is not black and white... It's in technicolor

I think one thing you DO have to admit is that you are a far more moderate/liberal Muslim than MANY.

But the point is that alias seems to blame that on Islam the religion. BUt the fact is that being a steadfast believer does not mean that one straps a bomb to oneself.

Islam makes me liberal and tolerant. I am not moderate/liberal in SPITE of islam. By far the majority of muslims do NOT believe in violence to solve dispute.

THat is why they condemn suicide bombers. But the very same is also why they condemn the USA for imposing their will in a violent manner the world over.

I have repeatedly tried to explain that the middle gorund DOES EXIST. Some people just don't seem to believe that.

MENTAL CAPACITY

The Qur'an says that the testimony of a woman is not equal to that of a man. It says that the testimony of two women is required to be equal to the testimony of one man.
Call in two male witnesses from among you, but if two men cannot be found, then one man and two women whom you judge fit to act as witnesses. (Qur'an 2:282, Dawood)
Why is it that the testimony of a woman is only worth half that of a man? Muhammad explains in the following hadith.

Narrated Abu Said Al-Khudri: The Prophet said, "Isn't the witness of a women equal to half that of a man?" The women said "yes". He said "This is because of the deficiency of the women's mind." (Sahih al-Bukhari: volume 3, book 48, number 826, Khan)

I have already dealt with the issue of Hadith before. Hadith are the sayings of the prophet. Since he was human that gives all other humans to disagree with it since he was a human speaking the truth of his time.

COntext also is often forgotten when any scripture is quoted.
