John 8

39 They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father.

Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham.

44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do.

He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him.

Revelation 2:9

I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.

Revelation 3:9

Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.

Mathew 3

9 And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.

Mathew 16:6

Then Jesus said unto them, Take heed and beware of the doctrine of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.

John 8

39 They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father.

Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham.

Three thoughts:

First: People that believe that Jesus was the Messiah are CHRISTIANS. Those who think that the Messiah hasn't shown up yet are Jews, from a religious perspective.

Second: Your translation sucks and blows at the same time, because the word "synagogue" did not come into use until after the fall of the second temple in 70 CE, long after John would have been dead, if he even existed.

Third: Christians invented the idea of a powerful Devil, of an antagonistic force to God. If God is omnipotent, then no such force could exist, logically. The idea might have been influenced by Zoroastrianism. At any rate, Judaism has nothing to do with any sort of powerful evil beings. Once again, an actual Jew might be a good source of information, not the Christian Bible.

According to wikipedia, you soak the fish in lye...

That can't possibly be healthy, not that I'm one to talk, given that traditional Ashkenazi food is notoriously artery clogging.

After all, we're the folks that invented kishka, sufganyot, latkes, and kugel.

Maybe the evil Jewish conspiracy is funded by profits from Lipitor sales?

Who did the people you call "Native Americans" displace when they migrated over from Asia?

Until you can start answering questions like that, you might as well keep your lutefisk hole shut.

What about the word "native" don't you understand.

People mirgrated from Siberia/southeast asia and later formed tribes in North America.

Jefferson's point is that you are lumping together many, many different cultures who often warred with each other into some sort of amorphous, singular people who were here first. I don't necissarily agree that that justifies what happened after the arrival of the Europeans, but he does have a point.

There were certainly many different tribes. They are, however, all what we consider Native Americans or American Indians.

I don't think that is Jefferson's point though. Regardless, it was not the land of Europeans who arrived much, much later. And it stems back to my original question of who owned the land that became Israel before Jewish people came.

The British. Before them, the Ottoman Empire and the Turks. Next question?

Ok... owned was the wrong word. What people were living there before Jewish people formed Israel?
