I think it's interesting to hear the account from people outside the US.
"An intellectual is going to have doubts, for example, about a fundamentalist religious doctrine that admits no doubt, about an imposed political system that allows no doubt, about a perfect aesthetic that has no room for doubt." ~ Antonio Tabucchi

I had just finished my shower and was getting ready to go to work (convenience store manager at that time).I saw the first report on TV while on hold calling into a local radio station and then saw the second plane hit.
The first tower fell just as I was leaving for work.Work that day was a jumble of trying to find out more news until about 5 PM when the lines just seemed to appear at our gas pumps. They stayed constant until about 8 PM when we ran out of gas.
I will never forget the sight of the first tower going down (although I wish I could)

I wanted to go into Manhattan that day. I ended up staying in Jersey with friends instead. There were endless hours of watching TV news and worrying about people we knew who were working close to ground zero.
One pill makes you larger and one pill makes you small,
And the ones that mother gives you don't do anything at all.

I was working at Chelsea football club (soccer club to you guys) in London UK, I got a telephone call from my wife telling me to watch the news, I went to the rest room and watched, I was stunned and shocked at what I saw!
Funny how views differ from person to person, no need to ban people you don't agree with though hey!
