Well, first of all, hevusa never claimed to be using facts. If you ask me, it's just plain, common sense.

I don't think that the world was a better place before Gulf War II, but I do think that America was a better place before our leader tarnished our integrity in front of the whole world.
If you go out and drive to your local 7-eleven tonight, and shoot the clerk in the face, you are a murderer.
If it turns out later that the clerk was a rapist, are you a hero?
No.
You are still a murderer.

But what if you went in there knowing full well that the clerk was a rapist? I think that is a bit closer to reality.

Now don't get me wrong, I do not honestly believe we give two shits about the Iraqi people, but I do believe that we knew Saddam was a horrid human being. And we wanted his oil. We did the right thing for the wrong reason, and that is not always so bad. However, I think what we are doing now in the post combat phase is where we are making our biggest mistakes.

As far as our integrity being tarnished... to whom is it tarnished? The french? Fuck france... those cheese eating pansies wouldn't know a thing about integrity. The last good living frenchman was Dugaul...

Not only U.S. needs oil
The thing is, 10 or 20 years ago, not many countries were in great need of oil just like we did. Now, not only U.S. needs oil, those developing countries need more oil even more than we do.

Great needs lead to high price.

Another thing if this was about oil how come oil is $56 a barrel? WTF?

First off, Operation Desert Shield/Storm ended with a cease fire and cease of hostilities. President Bush 41 in building the coaltion for the war, stated the purpose for the War as Removing Iraq from Kuwait. With that accomplished, all military units were forced to stop at the Euphrates river. Iraq agreed to the terms of the cease fire with the United States and its coalition with the United Nations.

No after how many UN resolutions Saddam ignored or violated, did the US return to war. Regardless of WMDs, preemption or whatever, Saddam's failure to comply with UN resolutions violated the cease fire of the Gulf War, this is not Gulf War II, but rather the completion of the Gulf War I for Saddam's failure to comply with the conditions of the cease fire ending hostilities.

Conservatism, I repeat is not an ideology. It does not breed fanatics....But if you want men who seek, reasonably and prudently, to reconcile the best in wisdom of our ancestors with the change which is essential to a vigorous civil social existence, then you will do well to turn to conservative principles

Exactly. I hate it when people say "What there were no WMDs? Then why are we over there?" That is incredibly ignorant. Just because an evil man doing horrible things doesn't have any WMDs means we shouldn't go take him out? We should have just sat arounf and let this man thumbhis nose at us and the international community?

I think not.

We did the right thing, for the wrong reason. But it's still the right thing.

This also blows the unjustified war theory totally out the window.

None of the reasons given to the american public turned out to be true. Not one of the many lies. The american public, and obviously many of you, ate it up. Every last bite.

He lied. And you can't accept it because of dumb pride and party affiliation.

Fucking pathetic.
