Points: 25,380, Level: 96 | Level up: 97%, 970 Points needed | | A Gitmo Nurse Tells It Like It Is Stashiu has been in the U.S. Army for 23 years, and is due to retire soon. Since September 11, he has been trying to get deployed to help fight the war on terror. After all, the reason he had joined was to be deployed. He was on the list to go to Iraq, but had been retained by his boss stateside for a long period of time because his boss liked his work and wanted to keep him around. His first chance at a deployment came with his assignment to Guantánamo. Finally, Stashiu was getting his wish, and he was excited.
Stashiu arrived at Guantánamo aboard a plane operated by Delta Airlines. Although military aircraft fly into and out of GTMO, the military also uses Delta to ferry passengers to and from Guantánamo Bay.
When you come in to Guantánamo Bay, Stashiu told me, you realize right away that you are entering a Communist country. Security is handled by military personnel, but there is a level of tension far different from that present at other places Stashiu has traveled to. It reminded him that Castro’s Cuba lay just around the corner — a malevolent place where the dying dictator has tortured and killed too many to count.
The facility is, as advertised, on Guantánamo Bay. Incoming personnel arrive at an air strip located on the leeward side, and take a ferry across the bay to the windward side where the detention facility is located.
As he approached the Guantánamo facility’s Camp Delta along Skyline Drive, one of the windy roads on the way to the camp from the ferry, Stashiu felt the scene seemed surreal. He knew he was about to take part in a historical set of events, and he was excited. As i mentioned a few days ago i met a guy named Zachary (keep forgetting his last name).. He's an american citizen and jewish.. he is also the defence attorney appointed to a number of Gitmo prisoners.
As per his information the treatment at Gitmo, while sanitized, is still inhuman.. he then proceeded to tell me about one of his clients who was 15 when he got picked up and locked up... That is still older than the ones who were 12 and 13.
Gitmo is a disgusting place of the same caliber as saddam's prisons.. The US has no right to take the moral high ground when its actions mimic those of a depotic tyrant state.

Could it be? Is it possible that YOU could be the one who is wrong? Even a REMOTE possibility? |

hahahahaha.. fine observation jefferson..
However, i stand by my opinion for two reasons:
1) A Gitmo lawyer is a more reliable source of information than an interview without specifics other than those that make all the inmates look like terrorists. That has been proven to be UNTRUE. Hence i consider that the report is also coloured with self justifications.
2) Even if is WAS wrong and these people really ARE all terrorists, then there should be no harm in allowing these men a fair trial. Evading scrutiny only speaks of insecurity about your own case. I mena what case could the government of the US have against those children who were 12, 13 and 15 when they got incarcerated.
I understand the need for security, but this is just rape of human rights.. Now you may say that they started it.. but last time i checked the "he started it" argument was only valid up until 5th grade. Just because certain people act like animals is no reason to imitate them.

Yeah, that'd be a reliable source of information. |

*sigh*.. how many times do i have to tell you alias.. you are not important enough for me to lie to..
The fundamentalist madrassahs are an abomination.. they are also completely non-representative of Islam.
This thread is about the shady interview of a self justifying nurse made by a VERY republican/conservative/rightwing biased interviewer.
If you are going to always change the topic to how evil a muslim i am then i won't have a chance to roadroll your flimsy arguments.... Of course that might just be your main motive but it only makes you more irrelevant.
When people STOP reacting to your crap it doesn't mean you've won any argument... it just means that you have driven people to not give a shit about your loony rants....
Personally i enjoy responding to your post because battling your ignorance makes me a better teacher

You can't refute what I say about muslims lying to infidels so your only alternative is to toss the insults. Read the last post I put up there and then refute that while you're at it without the insults. The AP is hardly a "VERY republican/conservative/rightwing biased interviewer". Must be a muslim thing. Right? When you can't refute the evidence, just insult the person who tells it like it is. Pretty pathetic. Insulting people you cannot refute is hardly debating pal. If you can't cut it, may I suggest another hobby......maybe basket weaving or sewing, something you can handle.
You are the one complaining about teenagers being in Gitmo and implying they are innocent. The facts don't add up. The facts tell us all that there are children who are terrorists. If you can't handle the truth, find a forum that will accept your lies without a challenge.
