Don't get me wrong, I don't hate cops as people, I hate cops as an establishment; I don't believe I need cops sticking their noses in my business to "serve and protect" me.

You don't need a gun and a badge to help your community, you need a gun and a badge to scare people into submission.

If you don't have a problem with it, good on you. Personally, it scares me more than those evil, baby-eating terrorists do; cops are a bigger threat to my freedom than al-Qaeda is.

Without cops who would people in need run to?? How close would we be to anarchy without police?? It is good that they scare people into not wanting to break the law, that way they dont break the law.

I do agree that we do need Police, but I do not think they need to scare people into compliance with the law. That is always the wrong tactic. And they actually receive training to counter that effect.

Here is a quotation from the original LA Times article I posted on the subject.

I cannot think of any justification for pinning a guy down then shooting him in the head and torso. That is scary.
