I am not a human being having a spiritual experience, I am a spiritual being having a human experience.

The ancient Greeks used to say, "You shall know a man by the friends that he keeps." Given the nature of their friends and advisers, what are we to conclude about the Republican party:
Stop the madness before us it stops!

I'm sure the Episcopalians will get over it - my church (United Church of Christ) has been "not a real Christian church" since we hired the attorneys who defended the slaves of the Ahmistad ... and we're over it.
Someone in the Episcopol church is confused. Maybe that's why they lose members every year. The fastest growing churches are the nondenominational churches. Easy to see why. A lot of the mainstream denominations are leaving the bible as their authority and catering to people instead of following the head of the church, Jesus.

Alias, who cares about numbers anyhow, ya know?

And there is quite an exodus out of the non-denoms these days and back to orthodoxy.

My two youngest were baptized in March at a little Orthodox church. Episcopalian. And it was very meaningful.

And if I was going to ever go back to church, I would go to the Catholic. Only thing now is that they would prohibit me from taking the Lord's Table. Cos of my being divorced.

But I read quite a bit of Catholicism for Dummies and a couple other books. And I went to the Easter Vigil this past year too. And often go to a nearby monastery grounds to get away and to gather my soul.

Well I have to share, if my daddy was alive, he would be the same age that President Ford was. And Mama told me tonight, she wishes she had realized what a truly remarkable man he was when he was President. Ford was President, not Daddy! She also commended him in his marriage commitment. And I thought about my own parents, and how they stayed together too, through thick and thin.

Hearing her talk that way tonight, brought tears to my eyes. And I miss my father tonight now for Gerald Ford having his funeral. Funny how those things connect, huh?
