Ever heard the phrase "ignorance is bliss"?

Hence man's curse. Man is a rationale being. He is placed on the earth with no weapons other than his mind. In order to succeed in life one must use their mind. Be it to create a weapon to secure food, or devise a tool to assist in the gathering or growing of food. Those who succeed in life are those that use their mind. Those who do not may be blissful, but they are not really living are they, for the survival depends only upon the benevolence of others. Be ignorant, and accept your fate.

Conservatism, I repeat is not an ideology. It does not breed fanatics....But if you want men who seek, reasonably and prudently, to reconcile the best in wisdom of our ancestors with the change which is essential to a vigorous civil social existence, then you will do well to turn to conservative principles

In life we are all in the dark.

There have been many ways humans have survived through the ages but all of them revolve around the collective. Without the collective we would accomplish nothing. We need our collected resources to achieve anything worth while in society.
--- help me Instant Runoff Voting, you're my only hope ---

There is little doubt that the world in general is more liberal than it was 50 years ago and beyond. Conservatives are simply roadblocks on the path to an ever more progressive and liberal world. What a sad existence.

What collective helped Henry Ford devise the Model A Ford, or Bill Gates devise Microsoft? None. Individual men and/or women have throughout our history have created inventions, ideas or provoked thought that have led to great changes. It was the individual that made things better for the group as a whole. Their motivation may have been to help the group, but ultimately it was the individual that thought of, devised and then created. It was but a single man that thought that by teaming together with other men I would be safer, hence the development of society. You place too much credit in the hands and minds of the so-called collective. The world's greatest discoveries and inventions have all been created by individuals, never by the collective.

I could not disagree more. Just because there is one fortunate man at the front, does not mean there wasn't a whole Army of people in the rear supporting him. You were in the military, you should know better than that.
Fight the good fight, and die with the enemy's heart in your hand.
