In the 1970s, to be a Vietnam veteran was to be against the war. That proud legacy must be carried forward into the new millennium. As veterans, we have been to the edge and seen the viciousness of Amerikkka unmasked. -- from the VVAWAI web site | That and many other quotes can be found at this WEBSITE. I found this site as I was looking for a means to stand with America First here and say, Yup, the troops coming home from Viet Nam were mistreated by the liberal public here in The States. I did not find that though yet, before I was riveted again by the horrors of war itself and the atrocities man can even ever think to do to fellow man. OD

LOL i won't even ask you how old you are, cause i don't want you slapping on the top of my head( plus i know how woman are about things like that) but you should be able to recall the nam war, and how the military was treated..
You nor anyone will ever know the horrors of war until you see it,smell, and taste it in person. and in most cases the easy part is making it home alive, the hard part is living with all that hate, fear, and alot of times guilt..
Besides suffering from this body wound, i also suffer from stress, depression, and i forget many things.( like where I read, seen, or heard things).
I don't like war, sure when i was younger i though war was a big thing for big man, that was until I seen my friend killed, and fear set in, and the only way to fight fear is with hate. i would never want my children nor anyone to be i a war again. but that not the waty the world works.

"...during the Vietnam War the Chicago tribune ran a comic strip for children, "Tales of the Green Beret," which was syndicated in twenty-five papers across the country. Sample dialogue between two Green Berets: "We kidnap, we burn, we execute...we clobber the Vietcong from the inside, where they live. It's cruel, ruthless, the kind of war they invented. They use terrorism, assassination. We're giving it back to them in spades." We could rejoice when a headline in The New York Times proclaimed that only two hundred Americans were killed this week. We could be glad when five thousand Vietcong were flushed out and massacred. But these are not statistics to the Lord Jesus: these are persons. And when even one shrieks to heaven with his flesh in flames-friend or enemy-we should all weep, we should all be ashamed. OD

OD | Well OD i believe in GOD,but i am not religous, i am not sure why God put me here, but i hope it for a good reason.
I ask god many times WHY.. why do we have to kill our brothers,I get no reply and yet the killing carrys on..maybe in some way we are suppose to be killers for now..But i feel like if god wanted to stop all this fighting and killing he would, but he hasn't and I am still asking why..
God knows i rather be sipping a beer and watching pretty girls, than to be fighting and killing.

War definately has an effect on a person to their very core. I once saw 10 of my comrades go home in boxes on the same day. I fear I have been irreversibly changed. In some ways good, some bad, but there is still a lot of pain, anger, and fear... |
