As an observer of Persian Gulf issues. I have been informed about a serious issue of Human Rights violence in “OMAN” as well I came to know the news was in REUTERS News Bulletin of Middle East, referring to the website www.dontvisitoman.com.

Unfortunately, the victim is an innocent American Citizen called “Mr. John Blennert” from Tucson, Arizona. He is a Scientist, Amateur Geologist

He has been arrested along with his colleagues from different nations on 31st March 2005 where they were in tour to the above mentioned country.

He is ended up shamefully in prison with funny accusation of “Stealing State Property”!, where there are No Law articles existing with such reference in acting law.

He has been a subject of Physical and Mental Tortures, the authorities there keep him isolated from whole the world for 6 weeks without legal charges.

The Question Mark which uprising here is, the role of US Embassy Staffs in this whole critical issue where they have been abused as well according to “John’s” statement in above mentioned website and the consoler advised to keep quiet or he will be end in prison as well!.

Despite that they kept to assure “John” about the Just and Fair of the Law of the said country!.

In whole his suffering they called him once, where his other colleague’s embassies kept to be in touch with their own nationals continually!.

On 12th April he has been told unofficially that the Police made many legal errors in their arrest due to the lack of experience in such cases!.

On 16th April the Russian Embassy success to obtain a Letter from Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Oman contains forged charges against him and his colleagues based on national heritage and archeological references as per their letter!.

Finally on 9th May the Russian Embassy in Oman got a Fax in Arabic from the Public Prosecutors contains the shocking forged fabricated accusations, as well the penalties against “John” and his friends, the translation of the document from Arabic to English Language is made by “German Embassy”! in favor of their own citizen named “Kasper” a member of “John’s” team.

Unfortunately the translation is not proper one as well it is not matching with Legal verbiage definition standards.

The official document states clearly that “Whereas the accused were captured upon initiating their crime without ensuing any negative consequences on the Omani society and without affecting whatsoever the national economy. And whereas continuing legal proceedings to file a public case against the accused shall have a negative impact and shall be of great detriment to the tourism in the country which is promoted by the State as a vital source of national economy, let alone the fact that it represents the only sources to economies of some countries in the world.

Therefore, the incident proved to be insignificant to necessitate trying the accused but rather to absolve them from being brought before the court, sufficing with their deportation while taking procedures to deter them from entering the country in the future in addition to confiscating the seized items by the State deportation while taking procedures to deter them from entering the country in the future in addition to confiscating the seized items by the State”.

They seized whole their personal belongings even the “John’s” pocket money along with his whole scientific instruments!.

It is not a secret issue that the foreign and internal policies of “Oman” noticing the up rising sense of Anti Americanism among the high official ranked authorities of the state.

As well Oman was among the most hardliner of US allies towards US policies in Iraq, where it’s surviving on US military support and economical aids.

My Appeal and Request from whole our forum members or visitors, either they are Diplomats, Human Rights Activist, Media Figures, Lawyers, columnists, …etc to adopt this issue in their fields of career.

Where we should demand strongly from State Department to open an Independent Investigation in this case, as well it is our duty to make our natives to be aware about the kind of dangers might face them in this country.

Where every one should take his part to make it a Nationwide Issue to save US lost pride in mentioned country.

My Question is: How we can bring Human Rights values and Western Democracy Principals in such Persian Gulf Countries if we can’t show them How we are keen about our own peoples SAFETY and RIGHTS?!, I leave the answer of this question to your kind self’s to express that in your own ways.

I am totally surprised from US Embassy’s stand towards this issue. Please read carefully “John’s” statement in his website: www.dontvisitoman.com, where he mentioned how the US consoler “Wesley” whom came to inquire in the Police Station about the John charges and why he has been arrested? They became enraged and told him to shut up or he would be either arrested or escorted out." !

He is mentioned that US Embassy’s staff hardly called him twice in whole his critical situation.

I am wondering about the role of US Embassy in Oman and their attitude towards protecting “John” or other US natives ! Where I am keen to know about their real job in this country?!

Didn’t they hear ever about the new presidential laws related to Anti Americanism issues? Why they didn’t demand to apply them on such serious issue.?

What they were waiting for to interfere? John’s Death !… where after to send his body to home like many Anti Americanism victims in Persian gulf.!

Didn’t till now we realized the meaning of Anti Americanism after seeing so many bodies beheaded in Iraq, Saudi Arabia, … etc. of innocent American natives on the hand of Arab Butchers .!

How many another scarifications needed to allow them to demand to apply the Anti Americanism Presidential laws in such cases?.

How these back warded countries whom surviving on US Military and economically support will respect our race & demand towards democracy and Human rights, if we failed to proof our natives safety and priority?!

It is very shameful issue for US media sources to ignore such humanity violence case where it was in Reuters Middle East News Bulletin on 20th August.

The visitors and readers of his websites will reach shortly 19,000 in two half months time and NO national support towards him is shown till now … SHAME !

Therefore, it is our job as Human being, Nationalist, Conservatives, etc. to alert our circle of contacts about John’s painful story in the mentioned country as to be a guideline travel advisory for US natives.

As well my advice is Congress, Senates, State Department, Attorney General …etc. should be addressed and reported about this issue for the proper action should be taken.

It’s the time of the nationwide media to focus on such cases, as no respected and peaceful American native would like to find him self in same position, as well to prevent any kind of embarrassment to US administration.

Christ all mighty. Every single aspect of violation against "John" reads like the complaints of Gitmo inmates. So spare the moral outrage until a time when the U.S. can support its own human rights record. Wait till the U.S. start actually giving the inmates a trial. Wait until the U.S ratifies the International Court so it can be held internationally responsible for its "interrogation tactics". Wait until the U.S. starts placing the blame of Abu Ghraib where it actually lies.

Once the U.S. can start showing a clean bill, then by all means kick their ass ( because this sort of human rights abuse is reprehensible) Until then , shut the hell up.

The U.S. constitution is a brilliant piece of work, and i believe that most nations in the world would do better if they applied some of its basic tenets.
