Has there been cases similar to this in the U.S.? I'm sure it would have been all over the news...

Considering the 100,000 people strong protest in our nation's capital was no where to be found on the news tonight I have no doubt people's rights have been trampled on without public knowledge.

Only CSPAN had live coverage. No major media outlet touched it.

There have been. They have not been quite as drastic, with the ceasation of the trains and such but people have been taken into custody in NYC and Philly for looking Odd. NYC and Philly are two of the largest cities in America... If we arrested everyone who looked od or geeky, more than half the population would be in Jail... When we add in the ones that are arrested for being the wrong color, I think that will leave a total of 248 People out of jail in both cities...
