I don't think the problems are with the average Iraqi.

Iraq's borders are extremely porous right now and they have been since the 2003 invasion...which would, undoubtedly, allow Iranian, Syrian, and al-Qaeda elements to have easy access to Iraq.

These people can effectively infiltrate almost every aspect of Iraq by forging documents and becoming "Iraqis"...and they can then use propaganda and force to steer Iraq into whatever direction they want Iraq to go in.

In essence, Iraq has been a blank piece of paper, so to speak, since the 2003 invasion.

I just sent this Email to my Congressional Representative:

---------------------------------------------------------

NATIONAL ID CARD

Journalist Alissa J. Rubin wrote for the New York Times 12 April 2007: "A suicide bomber wearing an explosive vest struck deep inside the heavily fortified International Zone on Thursday, killing eight people when he detonated inside the Parliament building just a few feet from the main chamber. In a separate and in some ways equally traumatic attack early in the day, a truck bomb destroyed the beloved, 60-year-old Sarafiya bridge across the Tigris and killed six people. The heavily traveled bridge has long been a symbol of Baghdad, illustrated on old postcards and drawings of the city from a more peaceful time."

Journalist Eric Lipton wrote for the New York Times 2 March 2007: "Nearly 240 million Americans and legal residents will have to spend an estimated $20 more for a standardized and tamper-proof driver’s license by 2013 to comply with a proposed new federal rule issued Thursday. Congress imposed the mandate for the new licenses in 2005, agreeing with the 9/11 Commission that terrorists’ access to fake licenses or state-issued identification cards made the 2001 plot easier to carry out."

Before this National ID Card is used in the United States, I am suggesting that it be issued in Iraq for a test run to see if it is effective. If it is not effective, then it would most certainly not be very effective here in the United States, and the legislation requiring it should be repealed.

And you are right, I would say that there are terrorists in every country on the globe planning some sort of attack. We can't invade them all. Moreover, you can not defeat a concept (terror) with military forces. All it does is set up our service men & women for failure.
You are right when you say 'with friends like them who needs enemies'. After all we did learn well from our allies, Zee Americans.... If i remember my history well, the US was a key ally of Pakistan during the time Russia had invaded Afghanistan. All weapons being supplied to the Afghans went through Pakistan. Unfortunately India was with Russia at that time so they weren't being very cooperative.

At that time most of the weapons being used by the Pakistan Army came from the US, our honorable ally and friend. Match made in Heaven.....Then the Pak India war breaks out, and the US decides to block all weapons sales to Pakistan. Something about hurting Amercian interests. Anyways, the Germans and Chinese helped us then, and not the great honorable Americans.

Also, regarding the US presence in Afghanistan, i have had the opportunity of interacting with a couple of Marines here and honestly, u look like a bunch of holiday makers rather than an Army. U dont know what combat is. Driving around in air conditioned Land Cruisers, living in 4 star hotels, parties every night. Pakistan has lost over 40,000 troops protecting your sorry asses from the crazies, and all u have to say is that we are your enemies.

You people dont deserve to be called MEN.

All i can say is that

4 Star Hotels? Parties? Uh... I don't think so pal... I will have to call you a flat out liar sir, unless you are referring to some very high ranking officer. As for Pakistan protecting us... HA! That's a fucking Joke... I laugh at the day when U.S. Forces will need protecting from the likes of a Backwater like Pakistan... Thanks for giving me a good chuckle jack ass.

Well in that case i'm calling you a liar too. I think u just set a precedent in foreign relations here...If we can't bear to get our heads out of our asses long enough to hear what the other guy is on about, lets just call him a liar. Best way to counter an argument. Bravo!

The difference here is that I have served in Afghanistan, on the front lines and I know how we live over there. There are no 4 star hotels, and there are certainly not parties every night, unless you have a weird idea of what a party is. The Marines in Particular are not staying in any 4 star hotels... There are very few of them even left in Afghanistan.

Your entire post is ignorant and offensive, what kind of response did you expect to illicit?

Me thinks someone saw the movie "Jarhead" one too many times and took it as the 'truth'.

First, I joined this discussion borad because Tadpole was saying wrong things about my country. I believe the words he used were 'ignorant' and 'offensive'. As if the rest of the world loves tadpole saying offensive things about them. I aint a US hater or anything, just dont like my country being accused for something that isnt the truth.

Second, TAdpole, what exactly is the frontlines? Because as per my understanding of the whole war in Afghanistan (and this i base on my proximity to the country in terms of ethnicity and the fact that i live only 4 hours away from Kabul), the US Army is sitting in an aircraft carrier from where they send out planes to bomb the place. The only ground forces there are are the ones that go out on patrols and kill off the remaining talibans. A frontline exists when two armies of same strength are facing each other and fighting. What you did was throw bombs on the place, wipe out as many people as you could, and then go in and clean up and remaining 'EVIL ONES'. U didnt see battle, u were just a janitor! And where do u think your great Army gets its supplies from. Yup, the backwater country called Pakistan. And u know something, we laugh at u lot cause u sell your weapons for dope! U know wat im talking about...and the proof is also there. Care to see photos?
So in a nutshell, its easy to rant and rave about how evil we are, but atleast hear the other side of the story before you start making untrue remarks about other countries.
