If people are too stupid to train their animals to tolerate the often unpredictability of their children, then they should refrain from bringing powerful breeds into the home and stick with a poodle. Every dog has the tendency to turn, but some animals like Rotts, or Pitts or Shephards have strong jaws and are much more powerful and not as easy to control once they lose it.

...unless of course you think we should ban them, which would be ironic coming from the "personal responsibility" harbinger of the boards here.

Sure so goes with people too. That is why the dogs live outside the gate.

..and there is a difference between Poodles and Great Danes.

You can't handle a big dog, get a poodle.

I have a pit mix and he is not aggressive at all, my neighbor has a Spaniel that is a bitch on wheels.

All dogs are different even within breeds, so to make sweeping generalizations is just ignorant; but then we can all consider the source in your case.

If your HDS had allowed you to see what I said, you would see that I specifically mentioned people whose kids are hurt by someone else owning them. Such as when someone's dog escapes and bites a neighbor. I'm not talking about the person/family that owns the dog.

And again, we can do the same with you, as you are still working on your incorrect comprehension that I was talking about a dog's owner and not the neighborhood around the dog. Tsk tsk tsk

[b][color=Teal]

I was bit by a terrier when I was a child and had to get stitches. Ooooh, let's ban all terriers....Whatever, this is such a useless discussion.

Have I said that?
Then what are you saying? Nothing much as usual.
